Life & Work with Jadyn Hailey of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jadyn Hailey

Hi Jadyn, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
2 Years ago, I took the leap of moving to Beverly Hills from San Diego to pursue my (newly at the time), self improvement podcast, “Busy, Yet Pretty.” Safe to say taking that leap of faith paid off, reaching millions of listens who are looking to become the best version of themselves. From the start of middle school, I experienced physical and verbal bullying that changed the person I was. I became afraid, reserved and isolated myself from life experiences, due to being afraid of judgment and others’ my age. That all change after I graduated high school, once I realized that people only know the version of me that I portray. That version of me at the time was nervous, insecure and yearning to be alone from anyone aside from my family (my safe space.) When that realization clicked in my head, within one day I decided to write a new version of myself. Confident, outgoing and a go getter. From that day forward, every single person I came in contact with, perceived me as confident and having respect for myself. I began acting as the confident & successful person I dreamed to become, until I believed it myself and soon enough, it became my reality. I created the “Busy, Yet Pretty” podcast in hopes to reach a few girls who are looking to become a happier, healthier and more confident version of themselves. I did not feel ready to launch this podcast, but this is your reminder to launch fast & perfect later because within months, the show was in Spotify’s top charts of education, reaching thousands of new listeners daily. I then moved to LA, where the city became my network as I built my show for not numbers but a passion to CONNECT with those who are looking to be understood on a deeper level.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There are times where I could see my passion & craft slipping away, not reaching the minimum numbers to be able to continue forward with this being my full time job. Every time I experienced those moments were when I unknowingly let my personal, quality of life go and only consumed work. Let me tell you, creative burnout is definitely real. Sometimes the best thing to do is set yourself free of what you love most, to give yourself time to LOVE it again, but this time learn to love it even more than before. As you know many people move to LA with a dream – but what exactly is the dream? To become rich, famous, have your dream career? Most often, we have a purpose of moving somewhere, such as in hopes to conquer that dream we’ve had since we were 12. Although, there are times we take that leap of faith and things don’t work out, leaving you feeling rejected and lost. When moving to LA, the easiest thing to do is get wrapped up in hustle culture and the future. Don’t get me wrong, I am ALL about working towards your “dream life” because your future is in your hands. But the thing about moving to LA is, many of us came here destined to achieve our dream. We strive to achieve all of our goals but forget to enjoy what’s right in front of you, the present. Regardless if that “dream” worked out or not, it’s time we realize the gift was right in front of us, getting to experience living in the beautiful city of Los Angeles. It’s going to be okay, so get outside and enjoy the present.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As I mentioned, I am the host of the wellness and self improvement podcast “Busy, Yet Pretty”. Throughout my work, I host and produce episodes weekly for those looking to become the best version of themselves, mainly targeting young women. Whether you need a boost of motivation or a self love reminder, the show is the perfect safe space to pop in your headphones and unplug from outside noise. I am very proud of all i’ve been able to achieve so far by the age of 21, although this past year I have really discovered what I would love to be most mindful of moving forward… enjoying the process! With that said, I’m both grateful and proud of my ability to work hard for my future self, while being mindful of aware of when I need to slow down and take time for myself.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I definitely see many exciting things upcoming in the next 5-10 years… Where do I start?! Motivational movement/conventions for the podcast, clothing line, matcha brand and so much more! All these plans most often require being in a big city to gather the best amount of traffic but don’t be fooled, this city girl will hopefully be taking a change of environment by heading to the countryside, surrounded in greenery along side my beautiful farm + garden!
