Daily Inspiration: Meet Victor Santiago

Today we’d like to introduce you to Victor Santiago

Hi Victor, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Well, my name is Victor Santiago, some people call me as “Victão”, which means “Big Victor” (lol). I am 41 years old, I’m married with Elisa, whom I have 2 daughters, Betina and Victoria, we live in Brazil, Sao Paulo state.
My Instagram has been built based on my passion for handmade/craft beers that I use to try every place I go. Every time I have a seat somewhere I do ask the waiter/waitress what kind of local beer they have, even if the beer might be unknow, that’s a great opportunity to try a different flavor.
Recently I did realize the bunch of so many pictures I’ve taken from the beers I tried worldwide, so why not share these experiences with my friends and the public that should be interested to learn more about it!?
Then so far so good, I am having fun!!!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being public is not an easy road, because some times I don’t like to open my book that much, so I try to keep my communication targeted to my subject, which is Craft Beer, so whenever I have the chance to tell the story that really happened behind the scenes, I will do my best to keep it rich of details.
Something hard to deal with is to connect with people as many as possible, it’s really hard to get followers or people whom may support your ideas, comments, words, I guess there are so many people ready to criticize whatever you are doing than support, but anyways, you should keep your focus on your target, it does not matter if people won’t like or support you, keep it going and doing very well.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a Sales Manager working for a multinational company n charge of a annual forecast about USD 60M. The company II work for provides energy solutions for Oil & Gas companies, and as par of my role I travel a lot around the world visiting customers, consequently creating and bringing new business.
I am know as a very committed person, even on my personal life I will do what I have promised or better than that, committed with.
My family is something that I am most proud of, I am a son of separated parents, so my family is my most valuable diamond I have in life.
What sets me apart from others, well perhaps my dissatisfaction with the same old thing, I need to have/make/create something new time by time, I cannot agree with the same things/actions ever, but I do not expect to have somebody doing it for me, I will go, see and act by myself.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I am definitely a risk-taker, so be careful with what you are going to ask me, because I am likewise a decision-maker, although I will mitigate the risks, also keeping my upper level organization aware about my actions, but do not expect minor things from me, because I will not bring up minor things, instead I will take them out of my way in order to reach the results I am looking for, on a polite way and working as a team member.
I had a call from a customer recently, asking me for a change order of a product I’ve sell, I took the action and within 1 week I organized the team putting together an action plan to comply with the customer request, and we made it. It was a deal about USD 4M that became a new deal about USD 5,7M.
