Rising Stars: Meet Pamela G. Almeida of Canoga Park

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pamela G. Almeida

Hi Pamela G., please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am obsessed with archetypes, storytelling and the Moon. I am an Ecuador born, LA based intuitive/shamanic artist, shamanic visual artist, psychic-medium, green witch, and mama. I create multidimensional artwork and products weaving psychology, mysticism, and spirituality.

My evolution as an artist, creator and entrepreneur has been informed by multiple life experiences, academic disciplines and earth based spiritual practices. I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in World Arts and Cultures/Dance at UCLA in 2005, with an emphasis on Cultural Studies. I developed my artistry as a professional dancer until 2010 when I returned to graduate studies and reconnected to visual art and my practice as intuitive artist. In 2015, I completed my Master of Arts degree in Women’s Spirituality at Sofia University (formerly known as The Institute of Transpersonal Psychology).

When I became a mother in 2012, I began creating personal care products because I wanted to use gentler and safer alternatives for myself and my child. Plus, it allowed me to connect with my creativity in other ways. So, what began with lip balm, later turned into 20+ products. I received such good feedback from my family that I decided to start creating products to sell by incorporating my art and knowledge of archetypes in them. I began doing vending events to offer my products and my art but I had to take a break around 2017 as I had become a single mother and couldn’t continue investing the time and money into the reach of my work. Additionally, I felt that there was a lot more depth to my work and I had not quite found the right audience for it. I continued to paint on and off, doing exhibits and submitting my work to organizations whenever I could, but not further vending.

In 2019 I got married and not long after I became pregnant for the second time. Then 2020 came and the pandemic hit right in the middle of my pregnancy. Unfortunately, my marriage didn’t survive the pandemic, and I became a single mother again by 2021. I focused a lot on my healing, mental health and spirituality for most of 2022. I painted some but didn’t really exhibit my work. Then, through what was meant to be a way to connect with the energy of a lunar eclipse in late 2022, I created some candles. I got the nudge to later offer them for purchase and they met a great reception. Like the lip balm years before, a candle gave birth to the zodiac boxes I now offer. At the beginning of 2023, I began a psychic-medium mentorship that expanded exponentially the depth of the products and art I created. Through the guidance of very potent ancestors and guides, I have created over 40 products (and more to be released in the next few months), and my art has transformed from being a holder for pain and beauty to multidimensional portals to offer expanded possibility and magic.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Becoming a single mother of two young children was extremely difficult for my career as an artist and entrepreneur. My focus had to turn to creating some sort of grounding for me and my children. Long gaps definitely present road blocks to growth and expanded reach.

Despite the long breaks however, I have never stopped creating and learning. Now as I emerge again, I have a clearer vision of who I am as an artist, creator and even mother, wishing to share my work with a wider audience.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My work and creations are anchored in psycho-spiritual development, embodiment, evolution of consciousness, and ancestral healing. I have an uncanny ability to study, synthesize, and weave information from seemingly unrelated disciplines to create new frameworks of inquiry, creation and exploration.

Through powerful ancestral guidance, I create simple ritual boxes for self-affirmation and celebration and for honoring the moon, the wheel of the year sabbats and zodiac seasons. All the products in my ritual boxes offer an intimate experience, stimulate the senses, integrate mind, body & soul and promote receptivity to the energies one is calling forth and seeking to balance. Sets might include ritual sprays, herbal bath salts, intentional candles, hand poured ritual soaps, massage and anointing oils, infused lip balms, spell jars, craft cocktail jars – all made with proprietary botanical blends and essential oils and prints of my own art.

My artwork continues to evolve in its depth and capacity to connect to multidimensional timelines. Through shamanic artistic practices, I open portals where the cosmos, earth, past, present, and future merge to create initiations and metaphorical crownings. My artwork’s purpose is to activate soul memory, awaken the soul to its connection to Spirit and serve as an internal compass to guide the soul to its innate wholeness and sovereignty. My art is for those who seek communion with Spirit, especially for those who are called by the Sacred Feminine, the Divine Mother in all its expansive forms.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love the diversity that can be found within the city. There is much to experience within driving distance that adds richness to my experience as an artist, entrepreneur and mama. Being part of a rich community is essential for me.

With that said, traffic makes things, people, and places a lot harder to access because of it doubles and sometimes triples the times it takes to get anywhere.
