Today we’d like to introduce you to Misha Suvorov
Hi Misha, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Hi there,
I was born in Leningrad, USSR, and raised in Saint Petersburg, Russia (same place with different names). My political activism and civil stance for freedom, peace and love forced me to flee Putin’s Russia seeking political asylum in the United States.
I moved to LA in 2013 to pursue an acting career. After graduating from Sanford Meisner Center in 2016, I entered an acting career and have been on this beautiful insightful profoundly transformational journey ever since. I joined RimoVision Group non-profit theater (Creative Theatre for All!) in 2023 and have been a loyal member ever since. I was voted in as a board member and promoted to a Director of Cultural Outreach and Digital Marketing during the summer of 2024.
In 2024 my political views on the Russian-Ukrainian war led me to produce and stage a russian anti-war solo-show The Border by Sergei Davydov. It was the first time I’ve used my artistic voice to project my political views. The Border word premier happened during Hollywood Fringe 2024 and won The Best of Actor’s Company HFF24 award.

Consequently, RimoVision Group partnered up with the city of West Hollywood to present The Border to WeHo residents during the Art Against War Festival to be held in the fall-winter season of 2024 at Fiesta Hall in Plummer Park, West Hollywood.
Currently, a branch out non profit DeepARTment has been found by me and two other artists keeping RimoVision Group as our father company and focus on our mission of helping underrepresented artists thrive.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Neither acting, nor political activism has been a smooth run all along.
Being a Russian-American I find myself a part of a severely underrepresented and geo-politically troubled ethnic minority of the United States. Having been typecast in a narrow niche my main struggle is to break out and reach a broader audience and make them hear my voice through my accent and see my personality through my national identity.
As a political activist coming from the area where personal freedoms are violated severely and the repressive machine is on the rise, I had to face all the challenges of involuntary immigration, inability to see my family and even talk to them about certain aspects of my life. Per say, my parents don’t know about award winning The Border, since speaking with them about it and the war or political situation in Russia puts their lives and wellbeing under threat.
Needless to say the film industry is very sensitive to any political agenda on behalf of the talent. Once you are known to be politically charged in any way, you become shadow banned as a potential toxic asset. Marrying my political activism with my acting career has always been my challenge.
Add financial inconsistency and uncertainty of the acting journey – that constitutes a mixture of challenges for me. Nevertheless, the joy of the self-exploration on stage while in character has always been outweighing the challenges and hardship of an acting career.
It doesn’t matter at the end of the day. When you do what you love, you never work a single day in your life and all the obstacles seem minor compared to the joy of the process!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m surely most proud of my award winning The Border solo-show. I’m Russian-American, not afraid to be so and openly carry out a conversation with my audience on the nature of troubled relationships between two nations.

Let’s Talk
Best of The Actor’s Company Hollywood Fringe 2024 award.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Gosh! There’s so many. Let’s pick one!
As far as I can remember myself I always dreamt of flying. One day I watched a Stroke of Death kung fu movie. I got so inspired I believed I could train myself to jump over huge trees. Yes, I was that kid who would buy into anything he would see on the blue screen!
I wouldn’t listen to anyone. My parents got worried I was gonna harm myself jumping off the heights and on high surfaces. I was committed to train myself to fly by jumping in strokes miles long and hundred feets high.
They were able to limit my training area to the couch in the living room which didn’t take long to break. I vividly remember for some few hours I was absolutely confident I would learn to fly in the air like the lead from the movie. I was absolutely happy!
