Today we’d like to introduce you to Kion “ki2dacity” Williams
Hi Kion “Ki2DaCity”, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started producing back in October of 2013 after Djing for years. The art of Djing started my interest in production. I shortly after got my own equipment and never looked back. My production opened the door for me to do other things in the studio setting like writing for artists, vocal directing, and even a bit of engineering. Aside from studio work production also segued me into taking the stage doing stand up comedy, and always getting in front of the camera for tv and film.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road to success is rarely a smooth one. For me it took sleepless night living in my car at a point, having to go to Starbucks just to charge my computer, struggling financially while all still trying to balance school and the little job I had at the time. It took a lot of “No’s” to get a “Yes” but all I did was keep my head down and keep creating and working on my craft.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
In the studio setting I produce, write, engineer and more. On the stage I do stand up comedy but I’ve taken a little hiatus to focus on taking my talents on stage to tv and film. If I had to pick one thing from all of those to specialize in it would definitely be music production. That’s what most know me for first. I am most proud of getting the opportunity to work with some of the great artists that I grew up listening to like Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Marsha Ambrosious and many more in music. Aside from that I’m proud to have put my foot down on the stand up comedy stage and to have even thrown my own shows for other up and coming comedians to get paid and share their art. I think my love to do for others is the thing that separates me from others because with that alone I am always motivated to do more. I just want to be a vessel
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t really believe in luck I just think what is meant will always happen so for me luck hasn’t played any role in anything. Being highly favored and working hard is the only reason I’m here where I’m at now by the grace of god. All glory to the most high
