Meet Sunny Lo of SoCal Digestive Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sunny Lo

Hi Sunny, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am a gastroenterologist in private practice with the goal to help people optimize their gut health. I try to develop a personalized approach with each of my patients and I focus on all things digestion related along with helping people achieve their weight loss goals. My practice is connected with USC Arcadia hospital and I have experienced office staff to help with me all the logistics of my practice. I believe in team work and could not do my job without all their help.

The reason why I went into medicine was because of my passion for science and also the ability to be able to help people on a daily basis for a profession. The human connection is the key in my option, it helps heal and allows for a timely and accurate diagnosis.

On my spare time I like to workout and play basketball and explore the outdoors with my family. I understand the importance of work life balance.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not always been smooth, lots of long hours studying and sacrifices such as declining events to get my education and complete my training.

Also being able to perfect my craft in terms of procedures has taken many years, especially during 6 years of vigorous training out of medical school.
