Daily Inspiration: Meet Samantha Sharman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Sharman

Hi Samantha, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I came out of the womb singing and speaking poetry. I’ve always known that music and art were my gifts and codes for the planet. Like most artists, though, for a long time I swallowed the “starving artist” narrative and decided to pursue more respected and profitable pursuits. At 27, I broke down and broke open. After years of working overdrive and suppressing the flow of my creativity, I felt like I was going to either die or dramatically chang my life. Within a few weeks, I quit my job, dropped out of grad school, dumped my partner, and started realigning myself to my passion. After 6 years of relentless experimentation, healing, and evolution, I’ve rebirthed myself into a professional, independent artist, scaling my brand every day.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think artists are expert transmuters. It’s in our native skill set to turn mud into gold by naming its purpose. I think it’s very common for artists to incarnate into highly traumatic settings (on micro and macro scales), so that we can heal that collective trauma through art. As the artist shares, the collective feels connected, seen, supported. it brings light (awareness) into our shadow (subconscious), and expression to feeling. It provides catharsis, it comforts, it confronts. It will heal you as deeply as you let it. This is the juicy stuff of life. I live for it. From that perspective, my soul chose to incarnate into violence, poverty, and repression on personal and social levels. Actively healing those stories and reclaiming my power is exactly what gives my art its fire, its life spark.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a multi-modal artist. I live for writing and performing music, mixing sound with visuals and visions, and dancing every feeling and prayer into form. Making sacred, sexy, bad ass, empowering music is my specialty. I am also an event producer. As the CEO of artist management at Enchanted Loft, as well as through my solo events, I get to curate containers for people to drop in, break open, and find their power. I want people to leave my concerts or events feeling creatively activated, inspired, free, empowered, and sexy.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Endurance. Intuition. Authenticity.
