Daily Inspiration: Meet Melanie Thomas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Melanie Thomas

Hi Melanie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is Melanie Thomas i am ivorian and french in Abidjan in the ivory coast. And grew up in France.
Coming from a total different country and culture it took me some time to find my bearings again.
We moved in the south of France which was amazingly beautiful, and I was happy to move somewhere where the weather was nice.

Singing has always been part of my life i mean since the age of 3 i remember singing. I would sing everywhere but i was very shy growing up and this was my way of expressing myself and getting out of my cocoon. I would sing in my room and post videos of me singing online, trying to reach people, because i knew that that was the only way for me to show what i like to do.
And i got on stage for the first time to sing on my school show when i was 13 and ever since i knew that i performing was my whole Life!!
Being a singer has always been my dream and my calling.

So i used to post my covers on YouTube and Instagram and during Covid i got discovered by Xix Entertainment to be part of a pop group. I was 16 at the time. The next couple or days after sending my singing and dancing videos to them they made me travel to Dubaï and the journey started for me.

I’ve been travelling in so many countries, recording Music, learning, dancing, shooting Music videos…
This experience was the best thing that could’ve happen to me in the beginning of my carreer because it teaches me so much.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been a great experience for me. I learn everyday, and i learn a lot about myself and what i like to do and what i don’t like…
I did learn English in the group so it was hard for me to express myself in beginning but it got better.
Right now I just prepare myself for the next step

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a singer in my group and i categorize in the soprano voices.

In the group they call me the Adlib queen, ever since i joined the group adlibs would be my favorite thing to do in songs.

My proudest moments are the Afro songs I have recorded and bringing my culture in a pop group like this one. And gaining fans from Africa!

What’s next?
I do want to be a very successful artist, or should I say I am going to be a very successful artist!

Something I can tell you is that I am working at the moment on my sound, and on my future plans but I am so excited about the future!
