Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Justice.
Amy, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Stacy’s Closet has been a fun fixture in the community for years! The first owner, actually “Stacy” created an amazing environment where women could consign and shop designer clothing, bags, shoes, anything you might find in a great closet! When a second owner took the business over, it started to go downhill and so she put the business up for sale again and that’s where I came in. I have a background in corporate and in healthcare, nothing even remotely close to clothing, handbags or consignment, but it was a passion of mine. I couldn’t resist at least trying, and 3 years later, here we are, with a wonderful business and amazing consignors and customers. I joke that my alter ego is “Stacy” and I truly love what I do now.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Small business in general is a huge challenge, and consignment can be tricky. So, really, not a smooth road in any sense of the words but it’s been a fun one! When I first took the business over, there were a lot of people who had been hurt in the process of the 2nd ownership, and the most challenging but also most rewarding part of the journey has been rebuilding trust with those consignors and customers. We now have some of the originals coming back in, and everyone is happy, taken care of, and respected. It’s a wonderful environment now that blossomed out of turmoil.

Stacy’s Closet is a designer consignment store located in Orange County. Consignment is a fancy way of saying we sell gently used (and many times brand new) items for people, and then pay them for the items once they sell. What I love about consignment is that there’s no loss and everyone ends up having a good experience! If items don’t sell, our consignors can get them right back, or choose to donate them. We pick amazing groups around Orange and LA County to donate items, and that’s a really rewarding final piece of the process.
What sets us apart is our personal approach and above and beyond customer care. As the owner, I work in the store more than any other employee, and am always available for my team, and our consignors and customers when they have questions. That level of customer service is hard to find in this day and age, and we pride ourselves on it. Our social media accounts are another piece that I really love, as they are filled with positive vibes, and show off the store, customers, consignors, funny memes and more.
Our inventory is changing every day, and we love to see what people bring in and what people buy! Although we are designer focused on a lot of the handbags (Louis Vuitton and Chanel for days!) we also make sure to carry a full spectrum of pieces so everyone can shop. My favorite customers come in with 3 generations and can all find something!
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was always very ambitious, looking to see what was next and how I could achieve it. I was always overly busy, and still adding things to my schedule even if it seemed impossible to fit, and that stands for today as well. Finally, my borderline OCD has finally been put to use with this venture, as all the items are perfectly organized, making for a streamline and enjoyable shopping experience.
