Check Out Destiny Soria’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Destiny Soria.

Destiny Soria

Hi Destiny, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Starting out was truly challenging for me. In 2008, I was victimized twice. The first time in a vicious hate crime, and the second when the justice system failed me. Sadly, it did not get better after that. Bullying that I had experienced for years before continued unabated. Hope and determination helped me survive those horrors. I was, and still am, unswerving in my aim to change things for the better. I wanted something bigger for myself. “Twilight” inspired me. Watching that film made me realize I wanted to pursue acting. To perform diverse roles, releasing the pain, hate and betrayal. Acting also helped my speech disorder and memory. I love acting so intensely that I formed my own production company, Lady Destiny Productions LLC! Now I’m a director and producer. I have been booked for leads in amazing roles, winning multiple awards for acting and filmmaking. Most recently I released my own dark poetry book on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. “Christmas Slasher”, my first feature debut, is being released this Christmas day.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Divergent people like myself will always have a hard time being accepted by others. I’m autistic and I have ADHD. People like me don’t really get a chance to show what we can do. We can act, sing, dance, and other amazing things just like everyone else! We just have to approach it from alternative perspectives, use how our minds work naturally instead of forcing ourselves to pretend we aren’t different. Many see us as difficult and we are. We can’t help it or change that. Frankly, I don’t want to be normal, never have. I’m happy with who I am. I face my own challenges, being both autistic and having ADHD makes it hard to regulate my emotions and moods in ways acceptable to people. But I’m still here and I love myself, all of who and what I am. Even as a Native autistic artist, it is hard to focus on doing one thing, learning new things, or gaining more understanding. It’s frustrating trying to explain to other people how my mind works and getting concepts across. I made my own filming production company to support those that are like me. I want to give chances not just to work in the entertainment industry, but to also succeed! Here I am making my own films, commercials, and photo shoots for the world to see. And I am doing it my way.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My work ranges from acting to editing. Lately, I have been editing due to the fact that finding an editor to work with on my films and photos is arduous. It’s hard to trust someone else with your passion and hard work. I’ve been teaching myself skills and techniques with the software. I know what I want to happen, and I’m making sure I get what I want. I’m well known for my acting career. I love to play different characters and explore those amazing opportunities to show variety. I’m proud of myself for winning many awards, even best actress for “No Promised Land”, which is on Tubi. What sets me apart from others is my gift, my power, and my learning disabilities. I work hard and have the deepest passion for my craft. How could I possibly give up what makes me so happy and has brought me to where I am? It’s going to take me even farther in life, I know it.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Well, I actually found out I can paint too. I have been painting about mother nature and wolves. Opening up my third eye and meditating. I’m a bruja, so I’ve been learning about my ancestors and my tribe, the wolf clan called Kickapoo
Knowing many things about magic and the power that we can carry and hold. My paintings are almost done as a trilogy of paintings of my lifespan.
