Meet Kevin Hamblin of Hamblin Property Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin Hamblin.

Kevin Hamblin

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
When I was 13 years old, I had two vivid dreams of myself in a 3rd person view, walking inside of a large empty warehouse with a long wooden table at the center of the warehouse that was about 4 foot tall. There were no chairs at the table, and I was circling the table and looking around and asking myself questions like why am I here, how did I get here, and etc. At the end of the dream, one of the answers that I clearly received was that I owned the warehouse. This memory always remained in my mind constantly throughout my teenage years, so after graduating college, I decided to pursue a career in real estate. I focused first on the residential side of real estate and once I felt more confident, I transitioned into the commercial side of real estate. Today, I am a commercial real estate broker, mainly in the industrial sector, and I help businesses lease and/or purchase assets for their operations. We also acquire buildings, syndicate investments, and assist with property management services.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I feel that there is no smooth road in life. We are constantly faced with personal/business challenges along the way, and when things start to go smoothly, get ready to be knocked down. I’ve seen it happen time and time again with myself and others. In terms of some of the struggles along the way, there are so many to choose from, but I will go back to when I first started in commercial real estate. Just like any business, unless you have a mentor, you have to make a ton of mistakes to learn your most valuable lessons. My biggest lesson learned when I went into commercial real estate was that it is not easy to build your book of business. It takes constant, endless work and thousands of rejections, but once you put in the work and face all the rejections, you become stronger as a person and more knowledgeable, and you learn that in business, everything is just numbers. For example, you may need to reach out to 100 people to receive 5 positive responses, and 1 is actually willing and able to move forward. Then, you try to focus on bumping up your response rates, conversion rates, your number of outreaches per day. Without struggle, there is no opportunity for growth.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Hamblin Property Group?
My business focuses on commercial real estate brokerage services, and we assist with leasing, acquisitions, syndications, investments, development, and property management. I focus mainly on industrial, retail, and office assets and specialize in leasing and investment sales. I stand apart from others by providing strong attention to detail, being hard-working and relentless, and I have a strong construction background which helps with analyzing deals quickly to determine if they are feasible. I would want people to know that I am always focused on the positive outcome for the client and not the paycheck. I always provide free advice and am a firm believer that when you help someone from a good heart, it pays dividends 10-fold.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My advice to anyone starting out is to seek mentorship in your desired field. Time is something that we can never get back. You can save years of trial and error and sunken costs by finding someone that you want to emulate and working for them for free if needed. Knowledge is the key to building confidence and excellence. I wish I had found a mentor early on as it would have saved me a lot of time, mistakes, costs, and etc.
