Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniella Rushton
Hi Daniella, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
In 2017, my son, Bertie, challenged me to write a book.
The Panther Tales was born, and 7 years later, I am the author of ‘The Panther Tales’ Fantasy Trilogy.
‘The Watchers and The Gifted Ones’ is Book One in the series
‘The Queen and The Powerful Pendant is Book Two in the series
‘The Panther and The Delinquent Dark Angel’ is the final book in the series and is currently being reviewed.
My creative life began in London when I was 17 at The London College of Fashion, and I have since studied acting, so ‘storytelling’ comes very naturally to me.
Living this thoroughly creative life and, being an advocate of the Christian faith, believing in oneself, finding and using one’s ‘Gifts’ in life have led me to write stories, including fairy tales and poetry. I was fortunate enough to share my story at the CW3 Confidence in California, a summit created for the empowerment of women.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Oh my gosh, I don’t think there is a creative person alive who hasn’t encountered struggles along the way. For me, it was the overwhelming task of meeting my son’s challenge. It was my sheer determination and ‘panther passion’ in meeting the challenge that began my understanding of the power in believing in God’s path for me and the power of believing in oneself.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a writer. My family and I split our time between California and the UK. My specialty is writing in fantasy, and I am known mostly for being the author of The Panther Tales trilogy. However, I do write Fairytales and Poetry. I am most proud of the series as I feel it is, unlike any other, a completely new concept. A created world covering human experiences and the complexities of life and love with imaginative narratives. I am also most delighted with my fairytale, ‘The Special Seed’ about a Queen’s journey through grief.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
Whenever we drive to LA from the Valley, I get goosebumps. It really is the city of dreams and playground of the angels with something for every single body. I really don’t dislike anything. Cities are like humans; we are all made up of many parts, but together, we work.
