Check Out Chase Del Rosario’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chase Del Rosario.

Hi Chase, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today. 
It all started when I didn’t know what to do in college. Although I was majoring in Kinesiology, the thought of becoming a Physical Therapist for the next 10 years was not fulfilling at all. I was always a creative mind growing up. I danced, played piano, and performed magic for every family function with my twin sister, Cherish. We even had experience as child actors in short films, commercials, and modeling. 

Just when I was about to transfer to a university in 2018, God gave me an escape. I got an acting opportunity to audition for a TV show, and I got unimaginably far in the audition process without an agent! Mind you, I haven’t acted since I was a kid…so that said something! Although I didn’t get the part, acting and performing became my passion again, no matter the rejection. 

So, I denied my acceptance to the university and pursued acting! Ever since then, I landed a bunch of commercials, short films, and modeling gigs, and I built my social media presence as an actor in my own comedy skits! 

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I’d be lying if I said that the path, I chose was a smooth road. The thing about being an actor in LA is that you receive a lot more No’s than Yes’s. Why? Because there’s a lot of other people who look like you want the same role as you. This really necessitates me to make sure I’m on top of my game, always sharpening my acting and staying in shape so that I can stick out. 

Consequently, that is actually why I picked up content creating on social media. If I wasn’t always acting on Netflix, Hulu, or Disney+, might as well make my own platform! It was a fun and productive route to take because I could make a living off of it, while also still being in front of the camera! However, yes, it did come with some challenges. One of them was learning how to begin writing out my own long-form sketches and then learning where to add or take away lines to best hit that comedic timing. Another challenge was learning how to be okay with zero growth, or, dare I say, negative growth, every time I post a new video. However, over time, I learned that as long as I don’t refrain from showing my authentic self, I will always stick out in both the acting and social media world. 

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an Actor and Comedy Content Creator based in LA! I’ve been in the industry since 2018, doing a ton of commercial work. Though, I’m best known for my comedy skits on social media! I love filming my skits around a topic that is super relatable to people but then expanding on that topic in a satiric way. Some of the characters I’ve created that people have known me for is Chad the Genie, Wholesome Robber, and my short boy/tall girl struggles with my friend, Chelsea Sik! 

For me, I’m most proud of reaching goals that I would only see the people around me achieve. In a typical Filipino upbringing, you are expected to become a doctor, engineer, or lawyer no matter if you like it or not. So, I couldn’t help but think that my future would look something like that. I’ve always thought hitting a million followers, becoming a YouTuber, being on set or being invited to VidCon was for other people. Though based off my experience, when you are CONSISTENT with your steps, you will get closer to that end goal. I hope to be an example for anybody, especially my fellow Filipinos, that it’s okay to lean into your creative side!
