Hi Voodoo Bae and team, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story. 
Omitola Iyalaje, affectionately known in the social media world as Voodoo Bae, is a force to be reckoned with—a woman of multifaceted talents, she embodies the essence of feminine power and spirituality. She proudly carries the mantle of being a Woman’s Woman, advocating for the resurgence of the Matriarchy with unwavering dedication. Over the span of two decades, Omi has stood at the forefront of the movement, igniting transformation through education, awareness, and spiritual awakening, touching the lives of countless women. 

As the esteemed Nene Umale (Queen Mother) of her sacred temple, The Daughters of Two Waters, Omitola guides women on a journey back to their ancestral roots, reconnecting them with age-old spiritual practices. A proud daughter of Osun and a fully initiated Olorisha, she channels her spiritual wisdom to empower others. Beyond her spiritual calling, Omi is a certified Life Coach, facilitating healing and self-discovery for women, enabling them to forge paths to the lives they truly desire. 

With a magnetic presence and a voice that resonates with passion, Omitola has amassed a loyal following of over a quarter million across various social media platforms. Through her captivating content, she fearlessly advocates for women, infusing her message with both sultry allure and unwavering strength. At the helm of Voodoo Bae Cosmetics and Voodoo Bae Apothecary, she stands as CEO, collaborating closely with her daughter, Ayla, to build these enterprises from the ground up. 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s a journey filled with challenges, trials, and errors. Indeed, even the most experienced entrepreneurs face obstacles along the way. From structuring your business to handling behind-the-scenes operations, every aspect of entrepreneurship presents its own set of challenges. 

One of the key traits of successful entrepreneurs is resilience—the ability to keep going despite setbacks and obstacles. When you’re the driving force behind your business, there’s no room for getting tired or giving up. It’s a continuous process of learning, adapting, and pushing forward. 

Embracing the journey and understanding that challenges are part of the entrepreneurial experience is crucial. Each obstacle presents an opportunity to learn, grow, and refine your approach. It’s through overcoming these challenges that you build the resilience and skills necessary to succeed in the long run. 

Remember, every successful entrepreneur has faced their fair share of setbacks. What sets them apart is their determination to persevere and their willingness to learn from every experience.

In her own words, Omitola shares, “As a priestess, a writer, an actress, a CEO, and above all, a woman, I aspire to embody the concept of possibility. Allowing my experiences to serve as a wellspring of inspiration, propelling others to embrace their own journey of growth and transformation. Through my work, I seek to create a space for myself and others to laugh and be hopeful, to cry and face reality, to question and to change, to dream and to realize, to live fully….”

With countless dreams left to pursue, her mission persists unwaveringly until every woman is liberated from the shackles of patriarchal dominance. What’s next?
I’m working towards the The Daughters of Two Waters Wellness Retreat and Healing Center, that will offer a safe and nurturing space for women to come together, heal, and reinvent themselves. In addition to the retreat, I will continue to expand my cosmetics empire, creating products that empower and celebrate women of all shapes, sizes, and ethnicities. I will also work to promote diversity and inclusivity in the beauty industry, showcasing the beauty of women from all walks of life. Through these endeavors, I hope to continue my mission of empowering women globally, helping them heal from past traumas and societal pressures, and guiding them on a path to self-discovery and self-love. Together, we can create a world where women are truly free to be themselves, confident in their own skin, and empowered to live their best lives.
