Conversations with Tiffany Jackson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Jackson.

Tiffany Jackson

Hi Tiffany, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Well, I started off as an All-American high school athlete; I was heavily into sports for most of my life. I was a 4-year varsity basketball and track star, then went on to play Division 1 basketball. I accepted a basketball scholarship all the way in Tennessee at THE Tennessee State University (HBCU). After a short overseas career, I decided I wanted to pursue another passion of mine: modeling. So, I packed up all of my things and moved to NYC, where I struggled and strived for 7 years. Around my 5th year in the industry, I started booking a lot more acting jobs. With the modeling industry evolving, I decided to take my talents to Los Angeles and pursue acting. 1 pandemic and a writers/actors strike later, and I’m still here 🙂

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
LMAO! None of my accomplishments have been smooth! During my first year in NYC, I was actually homeless for a few months (literally sleeping with rats and roaches). I’ve always been a faithful person, so I really believe “everything happens in my favor” until it does. I feel like between sports and entertainment, I’ve developed the thickest skin. Almost to the point where rejection only motivates me to go harder. Nothing really intimidates me.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar with what you do, what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an athlete, model, actress, and entrepreneur. I like to consider myself a Renaissance woman, lol. I am very skilled at many things. A lot of people in sports know me as TJ or Slim, then there’s a lot of people in entertainment who know me as Tiffany. I like to blend the 2. It’s a great balance of who I am today, and I believe that’s what sets me apart from others. I can get down and dirty without fear but also transition into different characters and perform on camera. I’m very proud of who I am as an artist and excited to see where my career and business takes me.

Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I believe my journey began the moment I graduated high school in my hometown of Houston and accepted a basketball scholarship all the way in Tennessee. I’ve always been a risk-taker and an extreme optimist. I also know that my decision to pack my things and book a one-way flight to NYC only enhanced the thrill of my pursuit of happiness. Everything I’ve experienced in my life has shaped me into the strong, wise, ambitious woman I am today. I wouldn’t take anything back, Good or bad.
