Today we’d like to introduce you to Markida Mitchell.

Hi Markida, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself. 
My name is Markida Mitchell; I grew up in Richmond, CA. I’m the founder and owner of Amazing Glam Closet (Inspired by Kidababe), KB Glam Collection by Kidababe. I initially started my business by selling apparel, human hair, and eyelashes. With the vision of always wanting to grow and a desire for longevity, I relaunched my brand and added KB Glam Collection (By Kidababe). KB Glam Collection (By Kidababe) offers my cosmetic line, “KB GLAM COLLECTION,” customized items such as jean jackets, custom shirts, custom shoes, sublimation items, graduation gifts, and holiday gifts. I have added marketing and design services, digital designs, and party planning to my business. Amazing Glam Closet focus on not just styling, apparel, crafts and accessories for women, kids and men, we focus on serving and giving to people in need of support and gelidness with building a business and brand. I believe styling is more than building your brand and providing fashionable outfits. It’s about building relationships, listening, and connecting with each customer. 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Building my business hasn’t been easy, but it has been worth every challenge I have come across. I started my business with little money, but I had a lot of faith, and I knew I had to follow my dream. I work two jobs and a full-time student, so it was hard for me to find a balance without letting my business slip away from me. 

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I work for two hospitals in the Bay Area. I’m a Substance Use Navigator/ Behavioral Therapist. I play a critical role in supporting individuals struggling with substance use disorders. I complete assessments, treatment plans, individual and group therapy and advocate for my clients. My responsibility is to provide Narcan to hospitals throughout the Bay Area. 

What was your favorite childhood memory?
I used to love going fishing with my grandmother, sister, and grandmother.
