Community Highlights: Meet Niyoni Owens of Raw Regimen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Niyoni Owens.

Niyoni Owens

Hi Niyoni, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother grounded in Christian faith, my professional journey has been a dynamic blend of medical expertise and entrepreneurial spirit. Beginning as an EKG technician at 19, I pivoted my college major from journalism to cell and molecular biology, ultimately earning a BS in Biochemistry from CSULB.

For a decade, I contributed to the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry, but a pivotal moment in 2010, marked by a diagnosis of Sjorgens syndrome, steered me toward alternative healing. Growing up in a small Michigan town, I gleaned wisdom from nature and my grandmother’s kitchen spices. Dissatisfied with pharmaceuticals’ side effects, I delved into research, treating myself and sparking an obsession.

Driven by this passion, I pursued further education, earning a BS in Business Applied Management from GCU, becoming an Ayurvedic practitioner through SCU, and attaining a Master’s in Herbal Medicine from ACHS. Further studies at Kingdom University led me to a Doctorate in Herbal Medicine and Aromatherapy. A 200-hour certified yoga instructor, I founded Raw Regimen in 2015, weaving together my diverse experiences to empower others on their holistic wellness journeys.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I believe the journey has been relatively smooth. The greatest obstacle is finding balance, wanting to help every person research, studying, formulating, and being an empath. I truly take on the feelings of the people that are sent to me, so it can be challenging sometimes to not get consumed. And find a balance.

We’ve been impressed with Raw Regimen, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are an Alternative wellness center and store; we carry over 300 plus herbs. We also carry custom Raw Regimen herbal formulas for acute to chronic health concerns. We also carry essential oils, salves, butters, creams, and everything we make ourselves. We specialize in Ayurvedic treatments like Abhyanga, which is a head-to-toe massage that uses customized warm oils formulated based on an individual’s body type and personal health needs. Other popular treatments include Shirodara Shirodhara is a classical ayurvedic procedure of slowly and steadily dripping medicated oil or other liquids on the forehead. Shirodara is an amazing treatment that balances and stabilizes the mind. Its relaxing, cooling, and calming effects help to lower blood pressure, reduce stress and fatigue, and induce sleep. We offer a wide array of other Ayurvedic therapies as well which can be found on our website. We offer wellness and life coaching, which includes nutritional counseling from an Ayurvedic perspective. All of our products are made with intention, care, and love. I pray before mixing everything I make, and we are very thankful and proud of the amazing results that all of our clients receive. Our pain management products, mind products, and digestive products, female and male reproductive products, and, of course, our beauty products for hair, skin, and nails are our number one sellers. We have had amazing results with our systematic blends as well, like blood pressure, blood sugar detoxification, kidney liver. I have over 108 suffers formulas for various health and healing needs that have been tried and found to be effective, so I’m very thankful for that. Our Brand was built on purity, quality, transparency, and consistency, and the outcome has been Healing, Rejuvenation, and Relief. I’m so very proud of that.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I believe alternative medicine is the way of the future. People want options with fewer side effects or lifetime commitments. My goal is to just help people learn to take care of themselves, recognize the dangers of different dietary and lifestyle choices, and make the shift to utilizing herb remedies and treatments to help the body rejuvenate and heal itself. And you can see the shift already in a lot of the big mainstream companies are herb name-dropping. Now you hear the ashwagandha turmeric elder, to name a few, in the advertisements, but this isn’t new alternative medicine. HERBS PROPER DIET EXERCISE REST predates allopathic medicine or mainstream medicine; the natural way just got bumped.
