Today we’d like to introduce you to Dillon Salva.
Hi Dillon, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was a two-sport scholarship athlete at Merrimack College, where I played football and basketball. I then went on to have a short stint in the NFL. When that chapter had closed in my life, I had no idea what I wanted to do next, I just knew the gym was my passion. I worked out as hard as I possibly could, training for both powerlifting and bodybuilding where I found a passion for training clients on my own as well. I knew training for someone else in a gym was a long road of minimal money and long days, so I decided to start my own in-person and online training business, which I named after my nickname “Skutty”. The energy I brought to my training sessions, which I posted on my social media, attracted my now brother Fetty Wap to DM me, inquiring me to be his trainer, being that we both lived in New Jersey at the time. Our great friendship then led to me becoming his bodyguard, which put me in the position to also become my now brother Kevin Gates’s bodyguard. Along the way, and currently, I’ve trained many big-time influencers and NFL players. My goal is to keep going and growing daily, becoming a better version of myself so I can continue to change people’s lives for the better in the gym. I’ve trained clients from elementary school to 85-year-olds. I’m well versed in all aspects of helping someone achieve their best self and live a long, healthy lifestyle. As I always say. Let’s get YUGE!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s been the furthest thing from smooth as possible. I decided in 5th grade I wanted to go to the NFL and that was truly my only dream in life. I expected to get there but didn’t expect such an abrupt ending. I had completely lost my identity in that aspect. But it also came full circle and brought me back to one of the things I enjoyed most which was offseason weight room training to get better for the upcoming season. I’ve had a roller coaster of a ride, but I wouldn’t change a thing. “I am who I am, and who I’m not, I’ll never be.” Is a quote that Kevin Gates always says, and it couldn’t hit home more. Just work day in and day out to be the best version of YOU!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next, you can tell us a bit more about your business.
I’m ISSA training, nutrition, and CPR certified. I do in-person and online training through my website. My full month-to-month programs include custom workouts, diet, and supplement regimes, where I do biweekly check-ins with all clients via update pictures or video calls. I also have my own clothing line where I sell Skutty and YUGE (biggest version of huge) merchandise. I’d say what separates me from the rest is that I’ve never had a client not exceed their original goals for themselves. I take my clients’ progress more serious than my own.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most is making sure my client’s goals are exceeded. I know how it feels to not be healthy, not love yourself, not like what you see in the mirror, and I decided a long time ago I’d never feel those things again for myself, and it’s my mission to make sure my clients feel the same!
