Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Sean Kutlay. They and their team shared their story with us below:
Dr. Sean Kutlay is the owner and principal practitioner of Santa Clarita’s top-rated cosmetic and general dentistry practice. After earning a name for himself among the elite clientele of Beverly Hills and Santa Monica, Dr. Kutlay brought his family to Santa Clarita, where he pioneered the area’s first advanced cosmetic dentistry office. Over nearly a decade in practice – five in Santa Clarita – his expert skill and genuine approach have earned him a fast-growing list of loyal celebrity clientele, along with patients who travel across the country to seek his specialty services that include veneers, implants, and painless sedation.
Destined for the dental arts from childhood, Dr. Kutlay recalls early memories of his mother fearfully resisting visits to the dentist. From that moment, he knew he wanted to grow up and become the type of professional that patients would look forward to seeing. Graduating from San Francisco’s University of the Pacific Dental School, Dr. Kutlay settled in Los Angeles to hone his talents with the latest cosmetic and implant options. He quickly developed a passion for this relatively newer and more advanced aesthetic practice, tapping into creativity to transform a patient’s smile like a modern work of art.
In 2018, Dr. Kutlay jumped at the opportunity to purchase one of Santa Clarita’s most beloved and reputable dental practices with the intention of modernizing its approach. He has since developed it into one of the area’s foremost cosmetic dentistry destinations, utilizing today’s most cutting-edge technology to provide patients with the best possible experience and peerless results. Among countless five-star reviews, Dr. Kutlay’s patients repeatedly note the kindness, compassion, and expertise of the entire staff in creating a flawless treatment plan from start to beautiful finish.
Soon to celebrate a decade of life-changing work, Dr. Kutlay has proven a skill level matched only by his determination to give back. He and his staff have provided more than $3.5M in pro bono and discounted cosmetic dental services to hundreds of low-income patients whose smiles were adversely affected by accidental injury, chronic disease, or genetic defects. In addition to raising three small children alongside his lovely wife, he finds joy in changing patients’ lives for the better, making dental services more enjoyable and approachable.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t always been very smooth. At first, I was working at other dental offices, and eventually I was lucky enough to own my own practice. This was a big step, but the hardest part about owning a business is that I have to play multiple roles: business owner, manager, and of course, dentist. Luckily, this hasn’t taken away from the dentistry I want to practice. In fact, owning my own practice has allowed me to focus on the craft of my dentistry, and because of that, I was able to find that I have a passion for cosmetic dentistry. Along the way, I had to make a lot of changes and deal with a lot of frustrating situations, but without those speed bumps, I would never have been able to find the work that I so enjoy doing.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My office is primarily a cosmetic dental practice. I specialize in smile makeovers with porcelain veneers. This is the reputation I’ve built over the last five years at my practice, and I think in the LA area, my work stands toe-to-toe with some of the top dentists in Southern California.
I’m not saying any dentist’s cosmetic work is better or worse than another’s, but I will say that based on the types of clients that trust us with their veneers and smile makeovers, there is enough evidence for me to see that my dedication to my craft is being recognized and appreciated, which is all I really want. I am incredibly happy when I can change people’s lives by providing them with quality cosmetic dentistry.
We have a variety of patients that choose us, including NFL players and a number of music industry clients as well as various influencers. When that started happening, I knew that I had developed a good service because those people are constantly in the limelight and show their smiles, which means my work is able to be showcased constantly.
I’m not someone who actually cares too much about being in front of cameras, but I am incredibly proud that so many other people are themselves proud to show my work to the world. The biggest compliment is when we receive a referral from a happy patient.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
If you do good work and practice responsible ethics in business, and you treat people well, your success will be worth it. It may take a long time, but it will happen.
