Today we’d like to introduce you to Martina Monti.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I began my journey with training, graduating from UCLA Extension with an Acting Certificate in 2022. I also attended acting classes at the Lee Strasberg Institute and Stella Adler Academy of Acting and Theatre. Currently, I take weekly classes at the Hudson Theatre in Hollywood with actor Rob Brownstein. In 2023, I embarked on my acting career and had an incredible year filled with new experiences. For the first time, I saw myself on the big screen in a movie theater, attended red carpet events for film premieres in which I participated, won awards, and even found myself featured on the front page of a national newspaper. Before coming to the US, I studied film in Italy and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Film from the Università degli Studi di Bologna. I’ve always had a deep passion for acting, and I knew it was the path I wanted to pursue professionally. When I felt ready, I made the decision to move to the United States to chase my dream.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I am very pleased with the progress in my career and all the work I’ve done so far. However, I must admit that acting in Hollywood isn’t without its challenges, and I’ve faced my share of struggles. Surprisingly, the most significant challenge I encountered wasn’t the industry or the obstacles on my path, but rather my own self-doubt and confidence. I came to the realization that my harshest critics were my own thoughts, often convincing me that I wasn’t good enough. Over the past year, I’ve undergone significant personal growth, learning that I am capable of more than I ever believed. I’ve proven to myself that I can achieve things I once thought were beyond my reach. This newfound self-awareness has not only helped me grow as a person but also as an actress and creative. It was a turning point when I realized I wasn’t giving myself the love and appreciation I deserved. Since then, I’ve felt a positive shift, and I’ve seen significant progress in my career.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
As an actress in 2023, I had the privilege to perform in a feature film, “Blue Moon Romance,” numerous short films and commercials. I’ve portrayed a wide range of characters across different genres, from action to drama, from horror to romantic comedy. One project I’m exceptionally proud of is “Seen,” a twenty-minute short film that addresses the important issue of sexual assault. It has received significant recognition, winning eleven awards and earning six nominations, including four Best Actress Awards for my performance. I dedicated myself to the role, ensuring I delivered an authentic and impactful performance. Another role I hold dear is Elettra in the TV Show “Studio 205,” a sitcom that allowed me to explore the realm of comedy.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Music has always been a significant part of my life. I played the classical guitar for eight years, starting when I was 11 in middle school and continuing until I was 19. My love for music, both listening to it and playing it, has been a constant source of inspiration. I also studied singing for two years before my move to LA. As an inherently artistic person, I have a deep appreciation for all forms of art and expression, especially those involving performance.
