Check Out Tiffany Anderson’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Anderson. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Tiffany Anderson

I Love My Natural Hair Academy is a nonprofit that was founded by Author and Celebrity Natural Hair Trichologist Tiffany Anderson in 2015. Anderson is the Author of the I Love My Natural Hair children’s book series, her books are unique in itself because they are accompanied with a workbook that teaches kids about haircare. She created these children’s books to inspire children to love their hair, starting with her own children, who are the characters in the books. In the beauty industry, Anderson realized there was a lack of self-representation and she wanted to make sure that her children and other children grew up loving their hair and how they looked. She then went on to start the I Love My Natural Hair Academy which is a camp that she hosts every year helping the youth build entrepreneur skills such as braiding, starting a business becoming and author etc… Her program caters to foster children but is not limited to. Anderson volunteers every year in the Read Across America program to promote literacy in the school districts and throughout the year to encourage diversity in reading.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As any entrepreneur endeavors, it’s never a smooth road. There has been many struggles along the way, especially when you are trailblazing an uncharted path. Some people don’t see the importance of hair care, they take it for granted until they are older, some people don’t think that children have hair insecurities because of their different hair textures. As a Trichologist I have seen and heard all of the heartfelt stories and they have all began as a child.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My work consists of sharing the truth to individuals that have been mislead in an industry that just wants to make money. Their is nothing wrong with making money but how you do it is more important to me. I choose to lead my industry by telling the truth about what will work and what will not. If we continue to deceive with products and not focus on the internal damage it can cause our customers and clients, they will not trust us. I specialize in and my motto is “connection, knowledge and experience” when I incorporate these three concepts I am able to lead my business and my organization in truth and share wholeheartedly. I am most proud of being a mother. When you become a mother, it’s your chance to show if you are a good leader. If you are able to manage your children appropriately and not punish them for getting older, then I think you are being a good parent, the same as in business if you can manage a team without stunting the growth of people and your business you are doing a good job. What sets me apart from others is consistency. Not changing for the trend or to just fit in.
