Hi Courtney, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am the owner and creator of Pretty Strands Hair Products. I’m a licensed hairstylist and have a passion for living a holistic lifestyle and living my best life. When my daughter Feenix was five years old, she was diagnosed with eczema, which was also on her scalp. After seeing doctors and specialists, I felt defeated because nothing seemed to be helping. I took the concern as a mother and expertise as a hairstylist to develop an oil that helped her hair and scalp issues. This took sleepless nights, countless fails, wasted money, and lots of learning. Fast forward to today, Pretty Strands Products is now a complete haircare line and sold in over 100 stores in Southern California. I’m thrilled to wake up every day and help people win with their hair battles using hair as a tool.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This journey of a business owner/entrepreneur consists of the unknown, challenges, and wins. I had to quickly learn and catch on to from many experiences. One of my hardest lessons is realizing the challenges are there for me to learn and grow from. While the struggle is what elevates you from your comfort zone. These force you to step outside of the box to become creative and innovative. My passion and wins is what keeps me going because they outway the struggles.
