Check Out Mary Anne Tubbs’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mary Anne Tubbs.

Hi Mary Anne, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
After graduation from the University of Arkansas, I lived in NYC for about seven years where I worked for Vogue, Giorgio Armani, Gilt Groupe and Tory Burch. I was constantly surrounded by such inspiring businesswomen who gave me the courage to one day start my own company.

In 2016, I traded in my Fashion career and fancy shoes for Motherhood and sneakers. I absolutely loved my new ‘career’ as Mom but I wasn’t ready to completely leave the Fashion world. I started Iris in 2018 with the goal of helping Moms feel fashionable and confident no matter how magnificent or mundane the occasion may be. We all want to feel put together, right?!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Launching a company with three children under three is a nearly impossible challenge in itself, but I managed to do it with the support and encouragement of my amazing husband. From day one and to this very day, my main job and priority is to raise my boys, so I took my time launching Iris. I am so grateful that I have the flexibility to work when I can and be completely present for my kids.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Iris Handcrafted Jewelry is a collection of globally inspired jewelry with the goal of elevating your look from carpool to cocktails. My purpose is to make women feel beautiful, no matter how magnificent or mundane the occasion may be.

Our Minimalist collection contains gold-filled pieces that will become your favorite part of your everyday look. You’ll sleep in them, you’ll forget they’re there…almost as if they’re a second skin.

Our Bold collection offers beautiful, unique pieces that are composed of natural elements such as gemstones, shells, recycled glass and clay.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
While I am so sad about all of the devastation Covid-19 brought to so many, I am also grateful to have learned a few things from it. First, it showed me that I need to slow down. We are all guilty of packing our schedules with too much. When it’s all stripped away and we are forced to live slowly and simply, it is a beautiful thing.

I also learned that women still want and need to feel beautiful and put together even in their own homes. What better way to do this than to throw on a pair of fun earrings or a beautiful necklace!

Pricing:

  • Necklaces $65 and up
  • Bracelets $25 and up
  • Earrings $45
