Check Out Stephanie Tamayo’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Tamayo.

Hi Stephanie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
It started when I was little, going to my mom’s friends’ house, and Clinique Happy was popular and every time we would visit I would sneak sprays of this iconic fragrance. Fast forward a couple of years and I quickly became obsessed with having fragrances from YouTube in college. There was a particular scent called DKNY Pure that a YouTuber said was attractive to boys and I bought it and added to my collection and wore it for years and got compliments! The passion only grew from there during the pandemic when I saw people sharing the same hobby as me online and wanted to create a voice and share my favorite scents.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not! There’s been many obstacles along the way, from bad lighting, too long of videos, the beginning of growing pains for sure, and figuring out your uniqueness and what sets you apart. That really has been one of the biggest struggles, especially because most things on social media are trends.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am currently a stay-at-home mom to a wonderful three-year-old! I love helping her learn and it’s a blessing to be able to be with her and see her blossom into who she will be and I get to pave that path for her.

And I’m also a part-time creator on social media it’s an outlet where I get to express myself creatively.

I’m proud of the growth I’ve been able to accomplish in such a short period of time, I’m not anywhere near where I would like to be, but I know that Rome was not built overnight, things take time, and I’m very proud of my accomplishments, although little, have made a significant difference.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Just Start! Just do it! Don’t let others’ opinions of you stop you from that passion that you have in you! It’s easy to put yourself in a box or to think that you can’t do something because there are so many others doing the same thing. But trust me, your flair and your voice is different from everybody else, if I could go back in time I would have started earlier and not been hung up on the voices around me that didn’t want to see me shine because of THEIR insecurities. If no one has told you this, I believe in you!
