Community Highlights: Meet Sarah Bentolila of Taproot

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Bentolila.

Hi Sarah, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Traditional, holistic routes to health have been my quest for almost 20 years. As a business school graduate and successful head-hunter in Paris in my early twenties, I was plagued with severe insomnia, anxiety attacks, and body image issues. I discovered the holistic practices of yoga and Chinese medicine which gave me hints that man and nature are connected. I had to know more. I had to “go to the root”.

After two years of study in France, I flew to Nanjing, China. There, I learned Mandarin Chinese and enrolled in a five-year program in Mandarin (which is equivalent to an M.D) at Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, one of the top medical schools in China. I finished my residency at Jiangsu Provincial Hospital, where I was able to treat thousands of patients.

I completed my education with a doctorate degree in acupuncture & integrative medicine in Los Angeles, with a focus on Women’s health and fertility.

My personal story of pregnancy loss and IVF gives me a unique perspective into this challenging journey. Nothing makes me happier than to help women, men and families grow and thrive.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Living in China for six years, then moving to yet another country was difficult, but nothing compared to opening my doors on the first day of Covid lockdown in March 2020. Nevertheless, our business found a way and we are still here, helping countless families.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are s women’s health and fertility acupuncture and integrative medicine clinic. We aim to truly listen to our patient’s stories and deliver a complete treatment that goes to the root of the issue. We support women from the onset of their period to way beyond menopause and at every stage in between. Our practitioners are very compassionate and highly skilled. We are over-joyed every time we receive the news of a positive pregnancy test or the photo of a smiling baby we helped conceive and deliver.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
