Meet Valé

Today we’d like to introduce you to Valé.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born and raised in Barranquilla, Colombia, a place where music is pretty much engrained in everyone. I started singing and being in love with music as early as I can remember! It has always been a big part of my life in every aspect. I was in my elementary school choir and then in my high school’s rock band. I was also taking vocal and guitar or piano lessons all the time.

However, as any kid with a hobby, I got bored eventually. But I was (thankfully) pulled back into it in the summer of 2018 when I was connected to an amazing team in LA. I was 15 and did not know what I wanted to do with my life at all, but decided to give music a try. Thank God I did because it’s been one of the best decisions I have ever made.

I started working with such cool people and felt so blessed, still do. I have had the pleasure to have been able to work with people who’ve worked with Halsey, Lady Gaga, Kid Cudi, amongst other incredible artists, which is insane to me.

I have been doing music professionally for almost 5 years now and I hope to be able to do it forever.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Honestly, it has been weirdly smooth. All I have to say about that is that I am a true believer that you are always going to be wherever you are destined to be. I feel very at ease and comfortable with my choices in this lifestyle so far. I have never felt out of place or scared.

There have been many moments where I am unsure of the future and what it holds but I always try to just trust that what’s mine will come to me through perseverance and hard work.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I think that what sets me apart from others, at least this is what I have been told about my music, is that it’s in Spanglish!

I have been blessed with the skill to speak 2 languages very very well, Spanish being my native tongue and English being my close second. I have always thought singing in English is easier, so lately, I have been pushing myself to write more and more in Spanish and the response has been amazing.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I’m a huge fangirl, lol. I absolutely have been one my entire life, I blame my mom for this quality of mine, she’s also such a fangirl. But I love K-pop, I love Harry Styles, SZA, ROSALÍA, and so many others. But I really just love buying merch, going to shows, screaming my head off, it’s so fun, it brings me so much happiness.

I only hope the whole world feels the same way about me soon,
