Today we’d like to introduce you to Sheila Haroonian.
Sheila, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hi, started doing hair at the age of 22 as I was inspired to the different creative outlets. My greatest inspiration was the music and entertainment industry, I wanted to be a stylist, and as I learned to do hair, I realized I really love to do color and styling as well. I was trained by the Paul Mitchell school and later apprenticed. Different well-known stylists that have been in the industry for decades. Being an LA native, starting my business in the city flourished beautifully. It quickly came one of my favorite creative outlets, and 14 years later I am happy to say this is the best decision I’ve made careerwise.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
LA is not the easiest city to accommodate people and there’s a high demand for perfection. By being born and raised in Los Angeles, I was aware of the obstacles I might be challenged with earlier on, so I knew how to accommodate people quickly in the service-providing world of beauty.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a colorist and Stylist in Beverly Hills, I have 15 years of experience under my belt. I am most proud of the way I have been portrayed from my clients as they have told me throughout the years that I am not only a fabulous stylist, but I have become a friend and confidant, someone they can confide in, and look to, for more than just hair advice.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Being from here is Anita’s husband, the best luck for me that’s far. I grew up with a large community, have friends and family and was able to start my business off of a lovely foundation. At times, I believe there’s bad luck only because of the highly saturated industry I have chosen to become a part of, but with different techniques and human abilities, there is no competition.
