Rising Stars: Meet Tracey de Leon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tracey de Leon.

Hi Tracey, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
This journey all started with my mother, her advice to me in one of her last moments of clarity. I had the privilege of being the caretaker for my mother in the last years of her life… I always remember telling her it would be who would care for her, I made her that promise. My mother had Alzheimer’s and those last words of wisdom changed my life. In short, she told me to remember who I was, and not forget that little girl who had dreams. To go after them, no matter the circumstances. after that conversation she made me promise, I’ve kept that promise through all the trauma.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Life is always a struggle, nothing comes easy. Failures are lessons and rejections are blessings.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am an actress, foremost. There is nothing greater than being in front of the camera. It certainly didn’t come easy as I was extraordinarily shy. I produce, which I have found that I am excellent at not only in problem-solving but multitasking.

What does success mean to you?
Hard work, effort and the determination to prove to yourself it was worth it all along.
