Life & Work with Sirona Faeryn

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sirona Faeryn.

Hi Sirona, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Creating has always been a part of my life, it started as little sketches in notebooks as a kid and eventually turned into much more. I originally started my career life in I.T., after about a decade I made a huge life change and went into Health and Wellness, My husband and I owned our own business, where we provided personal training and massage; with focus on sports therapy. During this time, I was still trying out any creative outlet I could get my hands on, and eventually we closed our Health and Wellness business to focus more on our creative side. Since then, I’ve been able to work on my art full-time and have expanded my skills into various mediums. Some of what I do now includes gemstone jewelry, photography, digital painting, acrylic painting, clay sculpting, resin art, and small leather goods.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I can’t say life has been particularly smooth, but I can say that I have been fortunate enough to be able to consistently work on my art and continue trying new things. I’m a highly introverted, neurodivergent, who battles multiple chronic health conditions, struggle is part of everyday life sometimes, lol.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a multidisciplinary artist. Most recently, I’ve been exploring clay sculpture and specializing in acrylic painting and photography. I’m known for my wire-wrapped gemstone jewelry and curating gemstone home décor, as well as gemstone supplies like cabochons and beads for other artists. One of the things I’m most proud of is hosting a large Online Summer event for my fellow creatives to join and share their works and businesses. Having my jewelry worn by a few celebrities and for on-stage performances by some amazing local bands has been pretty awesome too. I think one of the things that set me apart from others is how many different mediums I work with, I definitely have my hands full with all the things I do.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I don’t really consider myself too much of a risk taker, but I guess changing my career from I.T., to Health and Wellness, to owning a small creative business were pretty risky moves. You can’t achieve your goals without taking some sort of risk in life.
