Meet Gemini Ferrie of Dream Relationship Coaching in Highland Park

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gemini Ferrie.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I came from a mother who unfortunately had a difficult relationship with men. She didn’t know how to be honest or how to ask for what she wanted. At 18 years old I found out that my father wasn’t really my father. This was of course, incredibly heart-breaking at the time. To this day I don’t know who he is and he doesn’t even know about me.

During my twenties, I followed in my mother’s footsteps by getting myself into one disempowering relationship after another, in which I would always give my power up in hopes of being loved. The result was being with controlling, verbally abusive men, or men with substance abuse problems. I put up with a lot to be loved and it never worked.

After giving everything I had to make one more relationship work with a verbally abusive man I was with for a year, I still only received just a few crumbs of love in return. I was so confused because I was doing “everything right” but the relationship was still an embarrassment to discuss with my girlfriends.

Sadly, I completely gave up on love and decided to be celibate, because “why bother?” I truly believed love was something that happened to other people, but not me. “Perhaps I was meant to be single the rest of my life,” I thought.

At the time I was in my first year of USM’s graduate program in spiritual psychology. I spent most of my spare time trying to get to the bottom of how I had contributed to all my terrible relationships and I wanted to learn how to be truly happy, without a man.

Four months later, I had one of the most important AHA moments of my life: that only I can make myself happy – not some guy. I jumped for joy and the next day I met a wonderful man who I was with for 3 years. This turned out to be the best relationship of my life at that time.

I went from the worse relationship of my life to the best one in 4 months. After this relationship, I fell in love with the man of my dreams. We later married and continue to enjoy a beautiful, healthy, thriving partnership together that blows us away all the time.

I feel I’ve cracked the love code and I want to show other women how to do it too. My one-on-one work is dedicated to helping women break the patterns that get in the way of having the relationship of their dreams – without playing games or giving up who they are.

By guiding women to the love they’ve always dreamed of (with themselves and an amazing partner), I am paving a new path in my lineage. I am offering an example to other women to know that regardless of their history, they too can work through anything and have the love they deserve.

I got to where I am now in my business by having a lot of support. Every year I invest significantly more on becoming a better person and coach. I have a team of people I work with to support me in going to the next level in all areas of my life. This includes a life coach, business coach, reiki healer, and hypnotherapist. I also attend seminars regularly to train with amazing leaders in the field of personal development.

Please tell us about Dream Relationship Coaching.
I help women heal the patterns that get in the way of having the relationship of their dreams. I work with both single women and ones who are in relationship with challenges they don’t know how to get through.

I’m known for getting to the root cause of women’s love problems, often in the first session. Unlike most traditional couples/marriage counselors who tend to have a very distant and clinical approach with their clients, my warm and friendly energy helps people feel totally at home with me, which helps them open up about things they might have not shared with anyone else.

My methods are very non-traditional, very different, as my clients say, but they work and they start to make a difference right away.

Rather than talking in circles about the same feelings and events, I like to have a more goal-oriented approach in which I help clients overcome challenges starting now. My work is very hands-on and includes homework, email support, spot coaching, experiments and processes all custom tailored to what they’re going through and where they want to go.

I don’t offer venting sessions during which I listen, nod, and say “see you next week, same time.” Working with me is like a masters program for your transformation. I care about my clients deeply and I’m not afraid to challenge them and hold them up to higher standards than they’re used to being held by other professionals.

My work is not for the faint of heart or for those looking for a quick fix with a couple of sessions. I work with a limited number of clients a year who are ready to transform their lives and go to the next level in love. I’m not messing around!

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
In 3rd and 4th grade we lived across two other single moms with kids, who we built community with and had an open door policy with. All the kids would freely go back and forth between apartments to play and have meals. The moms would take turns cooking and taking care of the kids. I loved having an extended family that felt like my own, I loved having different kinds of food and toys to play with.
