Today we’d like to introduce you to Lawrencia Blount.

Lawrencia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I set out on this amazing bridal journey 16 years ago when I attended Parsons The New School for Design in New York.

Always having a love for bridal, I went to fashion school with only one goal in mind…to become a leading couture bridal designer. Having recently been featured in BRIDES magazine’s list of “22 Black Wedding Dress Designers to Know,” I am on my way!

Through my brand Lawrencia Bridal Couture, I am happy to fulfill my destiny and share my gift of design with so many beautiful brides for one of the happiest days of their lives!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Building a business from the ground up takes a lot of work, faith, consistency, and patience. Because I am so passionate about what I do, I go hard every day. Every time a bride lights up in one of my looks, it confirms my passion and that I have a true place in this industry.

Since I launched my brand at the top of 2021, one of my struggles has been creating awareness. I have the beautiful product, I have the top quality, and when brides see my gowns & accessories, they rave about them! In such an over-saturated market with social media the main driving force behind online visibility these days, it has been a learning curve to understand the new way to market your brand. However, with lots of research & smart marketing strategies underway, I am excited to grow into the premier globally recognized female black-owned luxury couture bridal brand that I envision.
