Meet Raya Dize

Today we’d like to introduce you to Raya Dize.
Hi Raya, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Beginning at the age of three, I devoted my life to classical music, playing piano, and singing opera. Classical music will always hold a special place in my heart, as it is a source of healing for me. However, at the age of 13, my sights shifted toward pop music, and I wrote my first pop song.
When I moved to the City of Angels, I found myself immersed in a world of opportunities and possibilities that helped me with my growth and development as I honed my craft and pushed myself to become the best artist & person I could be.
As I was working on different kinds of creative projects, I finally found my true calling as a “Conscious Pop singer.” I started raising awareness and spreading the word about this genre because it holds a profound significance in the world, as it serves as a powerful tool to address the pressing issues of mental health, personal purpose, and the collective evolution of our human race. It has the ability to transcend boundaries, unite individuals and inspire them to reach their highest potential as a united whole in harmony with the divine. My intention as a Conscious Pop artist is not to gather a mere following but rather nurture a spiritual community of open-minded listeners who are unafraid to question the status quo and embrace their own authenticity. Through my songs, I hope to inspire and guide people toward self-discovery and spiritual growth towards a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The path of self-discovery is always the most challenging. I have encountered my deepest fears and struggles along the way. While I may often speak about topics such as faith, authenticity, and confidence, I am constantly on my own journey of embracing all aspects of myself, even those that may not align with my ideals. At times, doubts and insecurities may arise and challenge my resolve, but I have learned to see them as opportunities for growth and to strengthen my inner fortitude. It is a constant battle within as I strive to silence my ego and destructive voices in order to maintain faith by constantly looking toward the light.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
As my journey as an artist progressed, I was graced with the realization of music’s boundless power. Through the melodies and lyrics, I witnessed the unifying effect it had on people and how it could tap into the depths of human emotion, inspiring others to pursue their aspirations. Thus, I embarked on a sacred mission to craft conscious pop music that would manifest this transformative power.
In the course of the past year, I was blessed to perform in iconic venues such as the Viper Room and Hotel Café and, most recently, in the sacred city of New York at Kobrick Coffee, organized by Breaking Sound.
Over the past 12 months, I have released several songs which reflect my journey, growth, and the values I believe in.
The first of them is “I’m okay,” which I aimed to address the issue of mental health and express the belief that relying on external, superficial indicators, such as social media or labels, to make assumptions about any person’s life is not the most advantageous path we can choose.
The second one was the Synthpop hit called “Truth,” in which I ponder the nature of our lives, remarking that we are “shackled to our phones” and “imprisoned by the system.” The song’s central theme is the question of why we must be followers when we possess the capability to lead and shape our own reality as humans.
And my latest release is my first “Love Ballad“ called “SILENT MOVIE.”
This single holds a profound significance to me. It serves as a spiritual anthem for those who have experienced boundless and unconditional love for another yet have not received that love in return. The song will resonate with those who have given selflessly of themselves and felt the pain of unreciprocated love. It is a reminder that love is the most powerful force in the universe, and even though it may not always be returned, it is still worth giving with an open heart and without expectations.
How do you define success?
For me, success is not defined by external markers such as fame or wealth but rather by the inner fulfillment and peace that comes from living in alignment with one’s purpose and values. Success is about using the gift that’s been given to you from the day you were born in order to be beneficial to others and connect with people on a deep level and inspire them to awaken to their own inner truth and potential. It’s about using your platform and voice to create positive change in the world and, ultimately, to be a source of love, hope, and inspiration to others. Success is not a destination but rather an ongoing journey of self-discovery and spiritual growth.
