Today we’d like to introduce you to Will Hawkins.
Will, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey started early in my life when I was eight years old. I watched the Disney Film “Parent Trap,” and the characters did a photo shoot at a Bridal Store in London. I immediately took an interest in cameras after seeing that scene. I began taking photos in 2011, this will be my 12th year as a photographer, and the journey has been incredible. I’ve traveled all over and outside the country doing what I love.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it’s been a difficult journey, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. In general, any entrepreneurial and creative journey was never intended to be easy. However, the destination will always be worth it. One of my biggest struggles in 2022 was my transition into commercial photography. Coming from a consumer-based business, learning the ins and outs has been challenging. When you reach your goals early, your mind begins to wonder what’s next, and it’s a very uncomfortable place to be in.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a freethinking creative. At least, that’s what I like to think. I specialize in Photography and Creative Direction. Most of my recent work has been lifestyle storytelling through images. At this point in my career, I’m most proud of making it through the pandemic and re-inventing myself and my business when others had to turn away from their passion. I believe my vision is what sets me apart and my ability to be perspicacious.
What matters most to you?
Freedom is what matters most to me. The reason is that I want to create in a world where creatives are told what they can and can’t make.
