Today we’d like to introduce you to Analina Garcia.
Hi Analina, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey into the healing arts sort of happened by “accident”. Growing up, I’d always been sensitive. I was very aware, empathic, and felt deeply. I had several intuitive experiences and was very sensitive to the energy around me. I had certain mystical-type experiences that I really couldn’t explain; I didn’t have the language for it. It was difficult for those around me to understand (at no fault of theirs) and eventually, at the surface, I maladapted into someone I wasn’t, inauthentic and very reactive. My true healing journey began at around age 25.
I’d first been introduced to the concept of both plant medicine and shamanism in 2010. The moment I heard about plant medicine, I felt a deep knowing within that this was something I needed to do. This was not a fad, especially at the time. I’d also heard about meditation in 2012, which I attempted but was not consistent. In 2018, that’s when I truly began to sit down and observe; my inward journey had officially begun. I started with the Sam Harris guided meditation app. Something else happened around this time; I started to notice some not so good things going on with my body. It turned out I needed surgery. That’s exactly when I knew it was time to go to the jungle. Ayahuasca had been calling for some time.
My ceremonies were intense. All of them. It turns out I am also highly sensitive to psychedelics too; even the tiniest of portions! I shed the façade and I could no longer be out of alignment with my authentic self. I’d taken the red pill. With that said, it is important to note that plant medicines are not for everyone. They take deep preparation, integral Shamans and staff, and a commitment to processing and integration.
In 2019, I had several intuitive experiences back to back. One of them being an experience where while in conversation with a friend in distress, I felt the need to close my eyes. Suddenly I could see myself placing my hand on her forehead. I was a bit confused about this vision and had no clue why I saw this. There were a few other instances like this. That’s when I finally had the opportunity to speak with someone about these experiences. It was a woman in the alternative healing arts/ field. She said, and I paraphrase, “it sounds like you’re giving a healing. When this happens, decide which one you are going to do, listen or heal. You can’t do both. Otherwise, it will exhaust you.”
The synchronicities continued. This wasn’t the first time I’d done this as I believe I’d done this work in past incarnations.
Then, I was reminded about Reiki. I had my experience and immediately felt called to it. I decided to train and got certified as a Reiki Practitioner and two years later, I felt ready to train as a Reiki Master under the Usui Shiki Ryoho lineage. My mystical experiences continued so I decided to learn more tools to support myself in this journey. This lead me to become certified as an Intuitive Healing Practitioner under the Den Meditation and the School of Intuitive Greater Healing in Studio City. These tools allowed me to work with other types of energy healing such as reading energy, past life readings, and more.
My practice has allowed me to step into greater authenticity, getting out of my own way and allowing for my path to unfold; In the beginning, I had resisted my journey in the healing arts. I never would have thought I’d be doing this until I made a conscious choice to be of service in this way. To show up 100% with reverence and responsibility. I am committed to the work. I strive to embody the philosophies of these modalities, daily meditation, body movement/ exercise, continued education, shadow work, communing with nature, and most importantly, building a relationship with my soul. Being embodied allows me to be a clear vessel for my clients.
With an accumulation of these experiences, my being so sensitive finally started to make sense! It became my superpower. I was lead to officially open my Reiki practice in April 2022. I absolutely LOVE what I do.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wish I could say it’s been a smooth road and yet, the challenges have lead me to a stronger conviction to my why. Having experienced such as mediumship, reading people’s energy, seeing with the “inner eye”, hearing with the “inner ear”, and dedicating myself to energy work has brought forward discomfort for those with different belief systems, Judgements and hurtful comments such as concerns about my work being demonic have been brought to the surface.
I’ve learned to check in with myself, feel what I need to feel, and extract anything I can learn from each unique situation. I can simply listen with neutrality and respectfully disagree. These challenges help me distinguish my values even stronger as a result, I’ve decided to continue to stand in my journey and soul’s guidance. In addition, I continue to respect other people’s diverse life paths as well.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My practice is called Hug A Tree Reiki. Reiki is an energy healing modality that works with energy to promote healing to the mind, body, and soul. It’s a technique that falls under the umbrella of energy healing. Other alternative healing modalities under this umbrella include breathwork, kundalini, different types of meditation, yoga, tantra, and so much more.
Reiki is a Japanese word and stands for ‘universal life force energy’. With intention and protection, Reiki is channeled from the chakras of the hands to the electromagnetic field of the recipient. Distance Reiki can also be done as it has no limits to time and space.
Reiki supports the physical and energetic body to slow down, clean and excavate whatever the recipient is ready to release. Allowing them to feel a deeper sense of relaxation and clarity. The clarity empowers the recipient to gain greater insight to the root cause of their current challenges and/ or simply provide a boost to what they are already doing. No Reiki session is the same and everyone releases in different ways. Some yawn, sway, cry, feel tingly sensations, get hot/ cold, and others simply fall asleep or simply feel relaxed, just to name a few.
In the beginning, I ask if they would like to set an intention, pull an oracle card, and then guide the client into a meditation. I connect to Reiki and thus the session begins. If this is in person, the client would transition onto the massage table. Virtual clients can lay down on their bed, yoga mats, couch and so forth in the comfort of their own homes.
As the Reiki Master and Intuitive Healing Practitioner, my role is to facilitate a safe space where I support and guide the energies down the energy centers or chakras as a means to recalibrate, balance, and restore. In the end, the client has the option to share anything they’d like about their experience. I then ask the client for their permission to share any intuitive messages, if any, that have come to the surface.
I offer virtual, in-person, and proxy Reiki sessions which include individual and group sessions.
Virtual Reiki for individual sessions are 45 or 60 minutes long. Proxy Reiki uses a proxy such as photo in place of the actual person or animal, for example. Someone that may need Proxy Reiki would be someone with a serious medical condition such as a medically induced coma, for instance.
In Person sessions are 60 minutes and are held in my studio or at the client’s home for an additional travel/ set up fee.
Group Reiki sessions are typically 90 minutes and offered virtually or in person.
Clients have reported better sleep, less pain, feeling a deep sense of relaxation, greater insights and clarity, and so much more. I recently made a house call to a client who was just in an accident. Her mind and body were still in shock. By the end of her session, she was calm and even making jokes. She was able to access a meditative state and said that she heard the relaxing music in her subconscious mind. The theta brain waves that she was able to access allowed her to slow down, thus allowing the body to heal.
I hold my Reiki practice with deep reverence and responsibility. It is important for my clients to feel safe and trust me as the facilitator. These are my core values. My mission is to facilitate healing as a means for personal evolution.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Choose a Reiki Master Practitioner that you feel safe with that is integral, embodied, and asks questions.
Reiki works with the unseen. Helping you release traumas, blocks, and the stagnant energy that your soul is ready to release. This is an empowering experience because you are a cocreator in the healing for yourself.
Let go of expectations. No session is the same. Reiki is experiential and often ineffable. You might feel lighter, suddenly have clarity, or say something you’ve never been able to say before! You might not even be able to make sense of it. It’s not for the mind, rather for the heart. This is energy healing.
