Today we’d like to introduce you to Sasha Campbell.
Sasha, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have always been an organized person. My mom taught me how to be organized from a young age and in different areas of my life. I just assumed that everyone was organized. Turns out…they aren’t! Organizing comes naturally to me, but it has been enhanced with courses at IAP and several nationwide organizing retreats. I learn something from every project that I do and I love that no two projects are ever the same.
Because of my love of organizing, I started helping friends and family a few years ago. At the suggestion of one of my friends, I decided to start my own business. I could have never guessed that I would be where I am today! I am so proud of this business and how it has grown! Most of my business is word of mouth and that makes my heart happy!
We offer a wide variety of services, including working with kids, unpacking after a move, product recommendations, organizing every room in the house, and a maintenance program.
We serve the greater Lake Norman and Charlotte, NC markets. However, we are certainly open to travel.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
When I first started this company, I decided to dip my toe in the water to see if there would be any interest. The cannonball splash that occurred since has been a welcome challenge! Any obstacles that have arisen because of growth have been a learning experience. Even with being extremely organized I have learned that I cannot do it all, so I have surrounded myself with an amazing team.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Organized Sunshine?
Organizing has become very popular recently through social media and shows. For me, no two clients are the same. I like to work personally with the client to get to know them….see what their goals are…see how their mind works. I never force my own system on a client, rather, develop a system that will work for them and their lifestyle.
When I work with a client, I call it the “Choose your own Adventure” system. I ask a question, and based on that answer, we go down one path or another. When you ask a general question to a client, they may not know the answer, however, asking one specific question at a time can help to lead to the answer. Once an organizational system is in place, it is much easier for a client to maintain.
I pride myself on having a wide variety of skill sets and doing a variety of projects. For example, I have created a sewing room with stations for eight sewing machines. I have done a garage where I needed to design storage for 200 football helmets. I have done a shed where I needed to develop a system to store chain saws… and of course…. your master closet and pantry organization. I like that no two days are ever the same.
I am most proud that I built this business from the ground up. I am now realizing that dreams can keep getting bigger as you continue to believe in yourself. I would not be able to do this without the love and support from family, friends, and my professional team.
How do you think about happiness?
There is a quote that states “A calm house equals a calm life.” ~ unknown
This is the goal isn’t it? But as we all know, life can be anything but calm. Sometimes, when you focus and control the things that you CAN control, you are better equipped to handle the things that you cannot control! I hope that I bring some sense of calm, order and happiness into my clients’ lives. Organization makes me happy.
A quote that I live by is “choose happy.” There are times where you really don’t want to be happy, but you have a choice. Life, and how you react to it, is a choice. I choose to be happy. I choose to let in the sunshine. c
