Conversations with Marcy Lambert Pellegrino

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcy Lambert Pellegrino.

Hi Marcy, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Marcy’s Pet Kitchen was started in October of 2021. We are an all-natural dog treat company that began in my kitchen making wholesome crunchy treats for my silver lab, Barkley. Knowing Barkley has allergies and sensitivity to other dog treats, I instinctively, like many pet owners, wanted to know exactly what he was eating to prevent any digestion issues and allergens that may cause his flare-ups.

After a lot of trial and error, I created a pet treat recipe that was not only organic and all-natural but provided gentle digestion for him with the infused prebiotics and probiotics to ensure a well-rounded diet that was gentle on his tummy. I made sure that all the limited ingredients could be seen in the treat and were always fresh with ZERO preservatives, ZERO Gluten, ZERO animal by-products, ZERO additives or dyes and ZERO GMO.

I have been in the advertising world for over 12+ years and began creating the brand identity and packaging for Marcy’s Pet Kitchen. Going through a few iterations until I trademarked it.

Simultaneously, my friends soon after wanted these delicious treats for their dogs. They were an instant hit and I continued making them over the course of the year into 2022 so other pet owners could provide these same healthy dog treats for their fur members of the family. Ours is special because we add prebiotics and probiotics for ease of digestion and you can see EVERY fresh ingredient in our biscuit cookies.

Soon after I began making these homemade and handmade yummy human-grade treats out of my kitchen for other people around the country and received amazing feedback! I was so inspired by Barkley to maintain making these healthy, gentle treats for other dogs as well!

So many dog owners were pleasantly surprised that their doggies loved them, as some were extremely picky eaters, or had colitis, gastroenteritis, or were even on hypoallergenic diets and their best friends could enjoy our treats with no tummy issues!

At this point, I was selling nationally through the Marcy’s Pet Kitchen website and advertising on social media and with my community. I vowed to donate a portion of proceeds to The Onyx and Breezy Foundation based in NY, that has tailored programs to save the lives of dogs, cats and horses.

After meeting my business partner whom displayed extreme interest in helping me amp up the inventory on selling platforms such as Amazon, we knew that Marcy’s Pet Kitchen’s reach could be far greater in helping many other pet owners and their four-legged fur babies get the perfect healthy treats!

Currently, Marcy’s Pet Kitchen has been on Amazon for less than a month and we are constantly fulfilling fresh baked orders of our cookie snacks to be delivered ASAP nationwide. We are so proud to be the first healthy dog treat on the market made with prebiotics AND Probiotics with ZERO bad ingredients! We use only the best high-quality foods sourced locally and made here in the USA.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Finding a way to provide our high-quality, sensitive tummy cookies at a high rate was a challenge. The next stop for Marcy’s Pet Kitchen was to now bake our small batch of handmade treats in a commercial kitchen.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My Creative Direction background is in advertising and I was able to use my skills to create social media campaigns, branding and messaging to the public about Marcy’s Pet Kitchen. The tagline “Reward Naturally®” really hit home with many, as that is exactly what I want others to do for their dogs by giving them our treats.

I am incredibly proud to be able to offer such fresh and wholesome ingredients in our cookie snacks that agree with dogs that have sensitive stomachs.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Cultivating your interests are crucial to me during this Covid era where so many people were affected. Having a passion to throw yourself into is key.
