Meet Hwesu Cobb-Phillips of Cobb-Phillips & Associates

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hwesu Cobb-Phillips.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started my career as an independent auditor for PricewaterhouseCoopers. I worked for two years at the firm and transition to a small-medium size CPA firm named Harrington Group. During my time with Harrington Group, eight years, I truly learned the “ropes” of accounting the impact that inaccurate financial reports can lead an organization towards a financial decision that can have devastating consequences long term. It was during this time that my interest into becoming an entrepreneur in accounting was piqued and started my journey towards creating my company.

Has it been a smooth road?
The road has not been smooth. I have learned and continue to learn the art of networking as well as lead generation. The idea of networking from an employee standpoint is very minimal and requires little effort. Networking for lead generation is a “sport” that requires commitment and consistent efforts to generate results. I am stilling learn this lesson and I use a business coach to work through my strategies and streamline the process.
