Meet Holly Leever of Rosebud Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Holly Leever.

Hi Holly, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My path to where I am today has been anything but linear. I became interested in yoga at 15 years old and quickly became a daily practioner. Yoga was the only thing that made me feel at home in my body and in my life. I started college at 18 and had a really tough time with that transition. Yoga remained my safe haven. I decided to take a semester off and went to a yoga teacher training. After finishing the training, I felt too overwhelmed by all the things that I didn’t know yet and was too intimidated to teach. So I finished college and continued my personal yoga practice. After graduating college I thought with a Biology degree maybe I could go study to be a Naturopath. I went to a naturopathic school to visit and interview, but found it was the acupuncture clinic that was really calling to me. I enrolled in acupuncture school the next fall. Being in acupuncture school felt similar to being in a yoga class. It felt so right and aligned. Throughout school, I learned about how much a woman’s menstrual cycle can reveal about her overall health. This fascinated and concerned me. I hadn’t been menstruating due to my eating disorder on and off for years. It has been this personal struggle that has led me to pursue many of the other modalities that I now practice. Yoni Steaming, Arvigo Abdominal Massage and the Fertility Awareness Method have all factored into my personal journey. I think my desire to seek out multiple treatment modalities stems from the thought that I had at 19 that my one teacher training didn’t touch the surface of all there is to know. I am forever a student and always strive to get to the root of my client’s concerns. I know that there aren’t quick fixes in holistic medicine firsthand. I know it can be frustrating and exhausting and because I have walked that path, I love guiding others through it as well.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I think what has been most challenging for me has been putting myself out there. I love researching, studying and learning more but I don’t love marketing. More recently, I have made more of a conscious effort to put myself out there more. There’s no sense in collecting all of this information and not sharing it with the people that really need it!

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Rosebud Wellness I work with women to solve menstrual cycle irregularities, acquire body literacy, learn a method of natural birth control and optimize their chances of conception depending on their goals. I am a licensed acupuncturist, herbalist, Yoni steam therapist, Arvigo abdominal massage therapist and Fertility Awareness Method Mentor. I have been working in holistic health care for over 10 years and specialize in women’s health. I offer in-person sessions including; Acupuncture, Cupping, Arvigo Abdominal Massage and Yoni Steaming in Thousand Oaks, CA (just north of LA). I also offer Yoni Steaming Consults and Fertility Awareness Method Mentoring virtually. I also have a variety of courses available, both live and recorded. Finally, I host a weekly podcast called Womb Wisdom. The podcast is part storytelling (period, fertility and birth stories) and part information about the practices that I offer at my business.

What is unique about Rosebud Wellness is that we have so many different modalities to offer. No one modality is going to work for everyone and not all of the treatment styles will resonate with each person either. I would love for people to know that there is so much power in learning about how our bodies work and learning how to listen to and read them.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
One of the most important things I’ve learned along the way is that I can’t be for everyone. Many of the treatments that I offer are not accepted in the mainstream world, and at this point in my career, I’m totally ok with that. I know that some people will think what I do is crazy or weird or not effective. That’s ok with me because the proof is in the results. Even if people are aligned with the practices that I offer, I still might not be the right practitioner for them if it doesn’t feel like the right fit. At times, it has been difficult to accept that I can’t help everyone. I try to keep in mind that everyone will find their people and we’re all on our own unique path.
