Rising Stars: Meet Claire & Lily Andrew

Today we’d like to introduce you to Claire & Lily Andrew.

Hi Claire & Lily, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
We are sisters and filmmaking partners.

As kids we were always telling stories in different forms – books, plays, stop motion animations, photoshoots, and films. Our friends and family were constantly getting roped into being actors and grips and transpo. Family movie nights of Hitchcock, Wilder and Chaplin became the foundation of our film education.

As we grew up, our love of filmmaking only grew stronger and has led us to pursue filmmaking not just as a passion but as our profession. We started our own production company called The Wildflower Sisters (based off our childhood nickname) and produced our first feature film (MAX AND ME) which is streaming on Amazon Prime. Every film is an incredible learning experience, and we carry all the lessons onto the following production.

We love what we do and are so grateful we get to do it.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Dream chasing is never smooth, but it’s always worth it. We would rather a rough road that leads us to where we want to go than an easy but less rewarding path. And we are very grateful for all the support from friends and family along the way.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We want our work to focus on telling stories that are inspiring to us and hopefully others as well. Whether it’s a story about the strong bond between sisters or a story of self-acceptance. I think what sets us apart as a writing team is that we are sisters who share a strong viewpoint on how we want to see more stories from voices that have long been silenced or not given the opportunity to speak for themselves.

What matters most to you?
Stripped down to the very core – we care most about happiness and kindness.

There are many layers upon that of course, but if we can make films that spread happiness and kindness by highlighting people rising up, finding strength, doing the remarkable even when told they can’t….if it can inspire someone, that would be an amazing thing.

We are grateful for the inspiration we have gotten from stories told in television and film as well as by the creatives who tell them. They’ve given us strength to go after our dreams, and hopefully one day, we can pass that inspiration down to others chasing their own dreams.
