Community Highlights: Meet Morgan Balavage of Splendid Yoga

Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Balavage.

Hi Morgan, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I help spiritual entrepreneurs make ADHD a superpower and create multiple income streams to live a life of freedom.

But if people ask what I do for a living, I call myself a yoga teacher.

I’ve been teaching yoga around the world for over 12 years.

I live in Los Angeles and love to travel with my rescue chihuahua @hi.spike, and am currently on a four months world tour because I built my business so I can run it from my phone. (Last stop: Baja! Next stop: Hawaii!)

I also worked in the corporate world for over 20 years in PR, banking, logistics, and the surf industry, among others.

Then I got laid off from my corporate gig, hired a business coach to build up my yoga business, and was making thousands within a few months.

I continued to study the healing arts, working towards my Master’s in Traditional Chinese Medicine here in Los Angeles and was diagnosed with ADHD.

I refocused my efforts on researching how to use eastern medicine to make neurodivergence a strength rather than a liability.

That led me to become certified in Taoist meditation.

When other yoga teachers, doctors, and therapists noticed my success, they started coming to me for advice.

So I combined all of my expertise to create a business coaching program!

But here’s why I call myself a yoga teacher:

Every aspect of my business and my life centers around the spiritual practices of flow and surrender.

I like to work easy, you know what I’m saying?

That’s what I teach my clients how to do.

Now, I offer business and life coaching to clients who want to:

– Master social media marketing to build wealth
– Travel the world luxuriously

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My business has made a LOT of pivots along the way – and I’ve moved more than 10 times since I started my business full-time 7 years ago! The biggest struggle has been knowing when to let go of a program, a client, or an income stream so I could focus my time on what was helping me grow.

For example, when I first went full-time with my business, I thought I was going to be a private yoga instructor, going to people’s houses to teach an asana class, and those are the clients I sought out. To make this work as a business model, it was incredibly draining constantly hustling for dedicated clients and working with 10+ clients in a week – but I figured out how to do it easily, without the hustle and the overwhelm. I realized I could grow my reach if I taught other yoga teachers how to easily book clients and refocused my business on business coaching for yoga teachers. It’s grown and evolved from there!

What’s next?
I am retiring my signature live course, Insight Timer Success, and transitioning it to self-led evergreen course so I have the space to launch *Burn It Down,* a new mastermind for spiritual entrepreneurs who have grown tired of their current offerings and are ready to fall back in love with their businesses. I’ll also be involved with a few online summits for yoga teachers and spiritual entrepreneurs over the course of the next year and am scheduling in-person speaking events.
