Today we’d like to introduce you to Myriam Lopez.
Hi Myriam, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Since I was little, I always felt drawn by this amazing career that is to tell stories through acting. But usually, parents don’t see this as a professional/serious career so I did not have the support to follow my dreams, I ended up getting a degree in Education. When I left my country and started my new life in this one, I struggled to continue working as a teacher, so with the support of my husband, I decided to follow my heart and do what I always wanted to do… ACTING! I had no clue where to start, it was a different country, different career, and different language so I literally went on google and typed: Acting classes in Montreal, that’s how I started almost four years ago and haven’t stopped since then.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been smooth at all ha ha ha, but I feel anything that is worth it won’t be easy. As I said before I am an immigrant, so struggling with language and accents has been a huge thing for me, but this hasn’t stopped me, it just means that I have to work harder to get where I want to and will get.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an actor and I have had the fortune to be a part of amazing short films with very talented people. I really try to get involved in as many projects as I can because each and all of them teach me something and make me grow as an artist. Something that I’m very proud of is that I got cast on an amazing TV series directed by the wonderful director and human being Philippe Falardeau, “Le Temps des framboises”I learned so much from him, it was amazing just to see him work.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
To be honest, I’m always open for collaborations and working with new people who share the same passion as me, if ever they want to work with me they can contact me directly to talk about it, I would be very happy to create something together.
