Hidden Gems: Meet Robin and Edwin Saghian and Shahab Mossavar-Rahmani

Today we’d like to introduce you to Robin and Edwin Saghian and Shahab Mossavar-Rahmani.

Hi Robin, Edwin and Shahab, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We all go way back in our law school days, but we pursued other work endeavors before forming our own personal injury law firm. Before the establishment of Omega Law Group PC, two of us (The Saghian Brothers —Robin and Edwin) formed our own practice in 2009 where we dealt with various areas of law — Personal Injury, Class Action, complex civil litigation, employment law, etc. Meanwhile, Shahab was working as a Public Defender where he spent years in the courtroom, arguing motions, trying cases in front of juries and judges, and otherwise representing indigent clients throughout Orange County. The three of us have always worked well together and have always dreamed of synergizing our skills and vision. So, when Shahab eventually joined his wife Gabriella Naysan’s law firm, they formed Beverly Wilshire Injury Lawyers in 2014, we knew it was only a matter of time before we came together to make our dream a reality.

At that point, we were already seasoned lawyers and had seen the injustices the consumer faces in the legal system firsthand. We wanted to honor the reason we pursued this profession and decided to shift our focus primarily to personal injury matters. Since the firm’s inception in 2016, we have made it our mission to keep our clients at the forefront of our practice. Most of the “bigger” firms at the time were spending a lot of money on marketing but not actually delivering quality legal service to their clients. We looked around at the firms that were in existence at the time, and we thought to ourselves, there must be a better way – we can do better.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Although the journey has been fulfilling, it definitely hasn’t always been easy. We don’t think it will ever be easy, especially dealing with the inner workings of the business side of the firm while making sure that we stay in touch with our client’s needs. A notable difficulty is making sure that we are providing quality work and white glove personalized service as we continue to grow. With so much at stake, we must be on our A game 100% of the time. We accept that we will experience tough challenges along the way— and there have been many. But when we formed the firm, we made a pact that we would be the best in the legal industry and that comes with hard work.

One challenge that comes to mind is having to adapt quickly to the changes brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. We are a trial firm; we litigate and try cases. But that task proved to be especially difficult during lockdown. The unprecedented difficulties of the courts being closed delayed the justice that our clients deserved to get. Not only that, but it was also hard for our clients to get the medical attention they needed and deserved. The transition that the legal industry underwent from the pre-COVID era to now was disruptive, and everything that we worked so hard to build seemed to be at a standstill.

But we had a solid foundation and amazing team members who are willing to deliver quality work through the pandemic no matter what. We believe those two elements allowed us to flourish and be stronger as a firm. When we started in 2016, we only had one employee working for us. But in just six years, we were able to expand to seven different offices across the state and employ almost 75 people including 13 attorneys. Yes, the work we do is challenging. But to see it grow at this rate makes us feel even more excited for the future of Omega Law Group, PC.

As you know, we’re big fans of Omega Law Group Injury & Accident Attorneys. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Although we have grown rapidly, we still view ourselves as a boutique firm that provides exceptional representation to all of our clients. We focus our practice on personal injuries that arise from auto, rideshare, trucking and motorcycle collisions. We are well known for our rideshare division, we represent a substantial portion of rideshare drivers and passengers, as well as those injured by negligent rideshare drivers. These cases are especially complex given the varying insurance policies based on which phase the driver was in and how significant the injuries can be. We want your readers to know that regardless of the severity of the injury or complexity of the case, we are ready and willing to take on the challenge of representing injured people against greedy insurance companies. Our clients are fighting against big insurance companies that refuse to compensate them adequately and seek every opportunity to take advantage of consumers. As seasoned litigators and trial attorneys, we want to use our expertise to better the lives of our clients and hold greedy corporations accountable.
