Community Highlights: Meet Christel Ferguson of Space to Love

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christel Ferguson.

Hi Christel, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised on Long Island. After moving to Manhattan, I lived in multiple close-quartered spaces throughout NYC, giving me the opportunity to engineer creative storage and organizational solutions. The small city apartments introduced me to the necessary necessity of letting go of items I didn’t truly need.

Wanting to share the liberating feeling of “letting go” of unnecessary things and the pride born from creative ingenuity inspired me to channel my energies into the talent and skill I had been honing for years. I founded Space to Love in 2013 to help people lead happier, healthier lives. I am proud to say that since then, my business has helped over 200 people create spaces they love, and the feeling of helping people live their best lives never gets old.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
There have been a few bumps in the road, but that’s life, right? Something that I have personally struggled with is creating and maintaining boundaries. My business is very personal for me, and so it’s hard to find a work/life balance when it comes to it because it is such a big part of my life. How do you categorize your “job” when it’s your baby? My answer? I don’t. This is not my advice to everyone, but it’s the path that currently works best for me. I find so much joy in what I do for a living that trying to unnecessarily separate work and life is a struggle that doesn’t serve me.

Space to Love is a professional organizing business that provides a caring, nonjudgemental environment that allows our clients to free themselves from the restrictions their space and clutter have on them. We encourage our clients to let go of their clutter and help them reach their greatest potential in life and work. We work with clients one-on-one in their homes or businesses to organize their spaces and acquire the tools and inspiration to continue the work independently.

Our passion is working with open-minded people ready to take their life to the next level. A slight shift can create significant positive transformations. We create a harmonious space that people love to come back to.

I have acquired a lot of tools in my nine years of professional experience; one thing that sets me apart from other organizers is my work in decorating and feng shui. I help clear the space and bring in beauty and calm energy.
