Inspiring Conversations with Jeremy Wooten of Wooten Financial Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremy Wooten.

Hi Jeremy, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am a financial consultant specializing in Credit repair, life insurance, and business credit. I am a former Pro basketball player. I am a graduate of Selma University in Selma, Alabama. My journey in the financial industry begins in 2018 with a life insurance company Caldwell wealth management. This company taught me the fundamentals of becoming an entrepreneur. After two years of selling life insurance, I decided to take a position with a credit repair company called UCES. Six months of learning credit under the leadership of this company I decided to start my own company Wooten Financial Group. Wooten Financial Group started from a two-bedroom apartment and a year later I opened up an office in Memphis, Tennessee. Credit repair became something that gave me the same urge as playing basketball. I now run one of the top credit repair services in Memphis. What I realized is that credit is a grey area in the upbringing of my parents, family, and friends. The power of credit is something that should be taught in high school and college.

Once I realized how big of an impact credit has on our adult life, I knew I had to step up be the change I wanted to see in my community. I have helped several families including my own family obtain new houses, vehicles, and new lines of credit. March 8th, 2022 I was able to give back to my high school and talk credit with the seniors of Byhaila high school. This was a major accomplishment for me. Due to my success May 4th, 2022, I was able to purchase my dream car a Chevrolet Corvette. This was a major accomplishment for me. One quote that I repeat to myself every morning is that “opportunities don’t just happen, You create them.” This quote has my story writing all over it. To become a successful entrepreneur you have to have some hustle and grind in you. When you understand that nothing happens overnight and being uncomfortable will one day lead you to become comfortable your success will forever be endless. My goal is to become a major financial institution in the south. I believe that once our community becomes more financial literate, we will see a huge gap in the financial struggles many families face.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Coming from a background of sports, my journey was smoother than the average individual, I would believe. The struggles I faced was more of finding the right mentor in business more so then the growth of my business. The right mentor is key because you have to study underneath somebody you can learn from and you feel comfortable with knowing they will help you succeed.
