Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Opie.
Hi Lisa, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started out with a swimwear line called Vizcaya Swimwear in 2014, which was slow to take off. In my free time, I decided to create a YouTube channel where I did makeup tutorials and product reviews. I started the channel in 2015 and it really took off in 2017 and 2018. With that momentum, I started booking jobs as a makeup artist.
Around the same time money was tight but I knew I wanted to monetize my following so I invested every penny I made on YouTube into my lash collection, which is how the LadyCode shop was formed. Now, the LadyCode has everything from lashes, wigs, lip products to clothing and jewelry.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not, I have faced and continue to face rejection, which ends up motivating me to work harder. I think the hardest things in this industry is consistency and not getting discouraged.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As a makeup artist, I am known for super snatched, neutral but dramatic glam. I love seeing people transform and I’m proud of every look I create. I have so much love for my clients and that is what sets me apart.
