Rising Stars: Meet Kendall Coushay

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendall Coushay.

Hi Kendall, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am an internationally licensed health and life coach based out of Los Angeles, California. My passion for life coaching has always been innate, but was driven to new heights during the past few years as I went through my own “spiritual enlightenment.”

Growing up, I always took pride in helping family and friends – whether it was just a friendly ear to listen to their problems or advising them in the best way I knew how. I soon began to realize that many people felt comfortable in my presence and opened up to me without hesitation. I was, and still am, the biggest cheerleader for anyone that connects into my world – I live for making other people feel great.

I started my professional career as special events producer by trade and thrived off of the energy I felt at events. It was not until I underwent my spiritual awakening that I realized why I loved these events – it was because the events I planned created special “lollipop” moments that would last a lifetime in people’s lives.

This realization led me on the journey to what I believe is my divine purpose: life coaching. I finally understood the infamous Mark Twain quote, “Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” No matter what I am going through in my own life, I will always leave my sessions smiling. It is beautiful to watch my clients live out their dreams.

I love to bring pure energy, optimism, and a bright outlook to my clients every single day, with the goal of inspiring them to see the beauty and power within. These pillars allow me to be the best possible life coach I can be and support all of my clients in creating the greatest versions of themselves. After all, what’s the point of life if you’re not living your best one?

Dream big, xoxo!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The biggest challenge I work to overcome every day with life coaching is staying out of my own way. Our minds believe the stories we tell them – no matter how elaborate, or true, or false they may be. Becoming a life coach has forced me to overcome a lot of my personal self-doubt and remind myself that coaching is not about having all of the answers, but asking the right questions. Nobody is perfect in life, and once you see the beauty in imperfection, your life will begin to change.

Another personal challenge I worked to overcome was transforming the concept of my own age from an obstacle to an advantage. I understand that this field is dominated by the older generation, or the “more experienced.” While that may be true and one may think that the older you are, the better coach you can be, that is not always the case. I relate to my clients on a deeper level no matter their walk of life. I have had clients that are 72 and clients that are 22. Let me tell you, there is not that much of a difference – we are all human.

Through all of the trials and tribulations, I’ve learned that are no such things as problems in life. There are only situations, and our outlook is ultimately what determines how we interpret them.
