Meet Jorge Bicer of OC Films

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jorge Bicer.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina and when I was 15 years-old, my family and I moved to Southern California.

Being so close to Hollywood, I fell in love with the movie industry to the point that I knew early on, what I wanted to do in life, which was to become a Film Director.

Unfortunately, I took a big scenic detour and in the span of twenty years, I had become a volunteer Firefighter and a Paramedic; worked in an ER for nearly a decade; and later in that time I learned to create web sites and worked myself up to become a Creative Director for a large E-commerce company. Even so, the love for film never subsided and I found myself chasing it again.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Starting a company is never a smooth road. Especially when you start something later in life as opposed to starting something right after college, when you are inexperienced; living at home and only have the one mouth to feed. When you think about it, being that young, the only way to go is really up! – But when you leave a good-paying job for something that you feel passionate about, and also have to come up with enough money to pay the mortgage and make sure there’s enough money at the end of the month for your family to live, it’s a completely different animal. – I could’ve never pull this off had it not been for my wife’s sacrifices and support along the way.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with OC Films – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
OC Films is a creative, small boutique film house in Orange County, California. — We specialize in short stories, corporate video profiles and commercial campaigns for corporations, small businesses and individuals.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I’d love for us to continue to grow as a company and to keep making an impact on our clients’ projects.

Outside of Southern California, we have only filmed in the beautiful city of Chicago, IL so traveling to other places in the world and capturing it all onto film would be a dream come true!
