Today we’d like to introduce you to Ronald Pescador.
Hi Ronald, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Ronald Pescador, born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. Upon some family issues, my parents decided to take a huge leap of faith and move to Miami and start from 0. Being an immigrant was a hard road since we had to adjust to living in different ways as well as my parents adjusted to working 2-3 jobs in order to sustain my brother and me.
I worked my rear off in middle school and high school to be as successful as I could be by joining the soccer team and the JROTC military class, Both activities taught me morals and self-respect and most importantly how to be a leader.
I couldn’t ask for more because those leadership trails lead me to become the man I am now.
After graduating high school, I couldn’t accept any scholarships or grants due to the fact that I didn’t have papers,
Being undocumented was a huge struggle but I never let down! I keep working and was able to survive and make the best of it. I was able to get some school completed but unfortunately didn’t graduate. Everything happens for a reason!!
Luckily, the dream act happen which gave me the opportunity to work and finish school at some point, and then I was in full work mode working on the hospitality business developing and learning from each job! After working in hospitality in Miami for 10 years, I decided to take the next leap of faith after I knew I needed a huge change in life and I decided to move to the city of Los Angeles in 2018.
I booked a flight and left with $300.00 dollars not knowing what will happen and once I landed I started to look for work. God, thankfully, I was able to find a job in hospitality which was my strength, and got to make some tips working as a valet driver to sustain myself while living in a shared room for the first 2 months in LA. It was a huge struggle which lead to me having about $8 dollars in my pocket!!
I can say the $1 menu helped me survive and my family’s prayers and my determination to succeed kept me alive.
After 2 months of hard work at a hotel, I got the opportunity of a lifetime working for a huge corporate housing company which open doors to me and gave me the budget I needed to survive and start a new life in Los Angeles.
I worked managing short-term rentals as well as doing some nightclub gigs as a host and just supporting my friends at the time and learning and developing myself to take the next challenge in my life which was managing events and creating opportunities for others.
During Covid, I was able to travel to the US and do amazing things which changed my life around !! Meet some amazing people which I could call family. Hard work helped me strive for greatness to the point that I was financially stable but then I realize happiness isn’t having tons of money but sharing time with loved ones and developing a franchise and image.
I quit my position after I found an amazing lady in my life who helped me take the next leap in life which was pursuing happiness and a brand. I was able to work at nightclubs and network till I decided to do an event called curfew party. Curfew party was an event in which we wanted to bring a different vibe to the city of LA and bring new opportunities to artists and new upcoming DJs to expand and share stages with top talents.
Working at the Gasolina party helped me develop Knowledge as well as an understanding of the complexity of this business and be able to put friendship aside and focus on the bigger picture. Four years later, after landing in LA, I can say the road is still yet to be completed but from a kid from Miami with a Dream to an entrepreneur I feel nothing but thankful for this city!!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I work in the hospitality business as a VIP Manager and am now a Brand Ambassador as well as a club brand co-founder.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love everything about LA!! Without LA, there wouldn’t be a Ronald SDP.
