Today we’d like to introduce you to Sean Paul Franget.
Sean Paul, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started doing photography in Santa Monica college in 2003 with my Nikon F3 film camera, that’s when I fell in love with it. It’s been quite an amazing journey through the years. I started off shooting fashion and working with fashion photographers at different events then I got into headshots for actors and doing some fine art photography. I eventually started a company with a partner that involved video, photography, websites and graphics and we picked up some big name clients. I decided to break away from that after a few years and focus solely on my passion, I started my own company SPF Studios, a full-service photography and video production company. Ever since I have been shooting amazing events in LA, from luxury events to members only supper club dinners. I eventually got picked up by sponsors like Cointreau, Disaronno and Patron Tequila whom I’m currently shooting for around the US and Canada. I’ve also had the opportunity to work with amazing electronic entertainment companies such as HTC Vive, Alienware, AT&T, Apple and much more. I am currently training many photographers and working with my production crews to create some amazing photo/video content.
Has it been a smooth road?
My biggest struggle was when I started working with anything other than photography and video content like my previous company that involved creative directing and websites/print media. But as soon I turned my focus back on only my camera, success just came flooding back.
What are some of the influences that have played the biggest role in your journey so far?
What has helped me greatly in gaining some of these amazing clients that I have was working with The Supper Club Inc., I networked with many members of The Supper Club throughout the years and even started playing Polo with some of the members. I learned how to socialize with very important people in ways that I was never able to before.
What type of clients or projects do you look forward to most?
Working with Patron has been amazing and I’m always looking forward to their secret dining society events, particularly Miami during Art Basel. The dinner + cocktail pairings are amazing and I get to enjoy it all. I also will be directing my first short film this year, really looking forward to that.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over, I would not have steered myself out of my passion for photography and film, not even for a minute. I felt that I could do so many different jobs and I learned that it didn’t matter what I could do but only what I loved to do and making sure every dedicated moment of my career was being focused on only that, nothing else.
