Meet TyRon Jackson of Operation Warm Wishes

Today we’d like to introduce you to TyRon Jackson.

Hi TyRon, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started Operation Warm Wishes 14 years ago due to my own struggles as a youth and a young man in my early 20’s. I experienced homelessness, being bullied, and low self-esteem. I felt that I had no purpose. I was lost and hurt. I didn’t want to stay hurt, instead, I wanted to make a difference in the world. That’s when I created Operation Warm Wishes to help and serve our homeless, youth and families in need.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. Being gay and black has not always made it easy. Also, when you run an organization that helps those in need, it can be difficult at times because the need is great and you want to help as many as you can. However, I look at those rocky roads as an opportunity to learn and grow. In a world that is constantly changing, I have to stay consistent with my work, and this is sharing love and kindness regardless. The unconditional love of Jesus Christ.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Operation Warm Wishes, or OWW, is dedicated to helping and serving the homeless, troubled youths, struggling families, Veterans and senior citizens in need throughout Orange County, CA and the world.

Mission – Our Mission is to inspire, motive and encourage those who are struggling to get back up. We collect food, clothing, shoes, toiletries from our community and distribute to those in need daily.

Everyone Needs Compassion – Operation Warm Wishes is dedicated to helping and sharing the love of Christ with ALL those in need. Helping others can change lives! We have all fallen down, but getting back up is all that matters.

The Dream – Our dream is to have our own shelters and facility’s around the world where those in need can come and get further help.

Operation Warm Wishes was founded on November 26, 2007 by Community Activist TyRon Jackson who has a passion for helping those in need and making a positive difference in our world.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
On Christmas, receiving my very first Nintendo in 1987 I was only six years old and was so amazing! One time, my family were struggling really bad, we didn’t even have a Thanksgiving. I sold my Nintendo to lady at a garage sale. Many years later, that woman gave it back to me. I still have it to this day.
